Addiscombe Judo Club

After our under 8s grading at the club last week, today was the turn of our over 8s.

Well done to each and every one of them who took part today - great fighting spirit and excellent judo! Everyone passed and achieved a new stripe, with some also gaining new coloured belts too.

Special mention to Mohammed who achieved his 18th Mon. This is the highest junior grade possible and testament to his hard work. On the day, he faced a line-up: 3 fights back to back with no breaks.

Well done all! Looking forward to seeing everyone wearing their new grades on the mat next Saturday! 🥋

Good luck to our over 8s who have their grading on Sunday at Coulsdon. Make sure you’re there on Saturday for the last few bits of preparation.

That’s a wrap on April’s judo sessions. Congrats to Thomas and Ali who were each awarded judoka of the month today. We’ve been especially impressed by their attitude and effort recently - both really important aspects of the sport (and life!).

Big congratulations to all of the Addiscombe students who took park in the Addiscombe and Nutfield Invitational Judo competition yesterday. Well done to each and every one of you. It was a great day of judo and very encouraging to see good sportsmanship win or lose. A special well done to those for who it was their first competition. Extra congratulations to Harrison who won the Spirit of judo award in the second session! 🏆

CLUB COMPETITION - Entry deadline approaching

Entries to the ‘Addiscombe and Nutfield Invitational Junior Judo Competition’ close tomorrow. This is a friendly local competition run by Addiscombe for 5-16 year olds, which we are encouraging all students to enter. This competition is taking place on Sunday 22 March.

Last weekend was our final session of February.
