⚽ Southam United 2–3 Cubbington Albion U13s
Two wins from two for the newly promoted boys!
Cubbington Albion U13s made it back-to-back victories in a thrilling away trip to Southam United, coming through a hard-fought contest to maintain their perfect start to the season.
The boys started brightly and took the lead through Henry, who produced a fantastic strike to put Cubbington 1–0 ahead.
Southam responded and, just before the interval, found an equaliser to send the teams into half-time level at 1–1.
Cubbington came out all guns blazing in the second half and continued to battle for every ball in what was becoming a real contest.
The second goal came from a brilliant set piece. Arthur’s superb free kick crashed back off the bar, with the rebound falling to Elliott, who showed great awareness to square the ball across the box for Bobby to calmly tap home and restore Cubbington’s lead.
With just five minutes remaining, Southam managed to break through the rugged Cubbington defence and level the game at 2–2, setting up a tense finish.
Then came the moment that sealed another fantastic victory.
With one of the final kicks of the game, Southam won a corner. Cubbington defended resolutely and cleared the danger. Freddie DC then showed tremendous composure, shrugging off his defender before going one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Rather than going for glory himself, Freddie kept his head and squared the ball perfectly for Arthur, who made no mistake with the tap-in to send the Cubbington players and supporters wild!

Another superb example of teamwork, character and togetherness from the newly promoted boys. To twice take the lead, respond to setbacks and find a winner in the dying moments shows the mentality this group is developing.
