Demolition works started today at Valence Park. First the condemned pavilion and next will be the storage facility that has been an unsafe building for years. We welcome these works but shame on the LB of Barking & Dagenham council for refusing us and Valence United to have alternative storage at the park and for the complete lack of communication leading up to this. The council has succeeded in driving out Valence United from the park that has been their home venue for decades and is trying to do the same with us. Between the two clubs we have nearly 400 players and 40 volunteers who dedicate their weekends to making football fun and enjoyable for our youngsters, but this is just another example of the problems that youth grassroots football clubs are going through because of decisions that are made by people who don’t seem to care.
