🌞 SGSD Summer Photo Competition 2026 🌞

What a fantastic summer of dancing, creativity and fun!

This summer, our FREE Summer Photo Competition was back up and running!
A huge 31 dancers took part, sending in their favourite summer dance photographs. We loved seeing everyone’s creativity and watching the children find fun and imaginative ways to show off their dancing in all sorts of different places and settings. From beaches and holidays to gardens, parks and even Disneyland Paris, our dancers certainly kept us entertained!

Choosing the winning photographs was not an easy job! Every entry showed enthusiasm, creativity and a love of dance, and we were incredibly proud of everyone who took the time to get involved.

After judging all of the photographs, Sue chose our 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners, who you can see on the following page. A huge congratulations to them! 🏆

Most importantly, we want to say a BIG WELL DONE to every single dancer who entered. Whether you placed in the competition or not, we hope you had lots of fun creating your photo and making some lovely summer memories along the way. ❤️

As a little thank you for taking part, every participant will receive a small Haribo treat and the 3 photos as a keepsake, with our competition winners receiving an extra little prize as a special congratulations. 🍬🏆

After a morning of updates and recaps from Principals Laura and Sue on the expectations for SGSD’s Student Assistants and Student Teachers, everyone enjoyed Domino’s pizza for lunch before listening to our guest speaker, Miss Jacqui Everitt. Her inspiring words made a real impact, and we hope our assistants take away lots of valuable learning from the day. Thankyou so much Miss Jacqui.
It was lovely to spend time with the assistants, particularly as some do not often have the opportunity to work alongside one another. The role-play activity provided a positive way for different assistants to collaborate, share ideas, learn from each other and of course, be ready for these scenarios to unfold during future classes.
We are excited to return from Wednesday 9th September, and we hope our dancers are too🫶🏽 We are ready 💜

From Tuesday 15th September, our Pure Acro classes return — a full hour dedicated to developing strength, flexibility, control and consistency in every skill. 💪🏼✨

We Are So Grateful To Patricia For Working So Hard To Secure Sponsorship For The T-Shirts For All The Students, Friends And Families — It Was A Huge Success. We Would Like To Express Our Gratitude To Nelson College London (NCL) Whose Logo Took Pride Of Place On Every Disney T-Shirt Worn Around The Park And Will Continue To Be Recognised Whenever The Students Wear Their T-Shirts To Class And Beyond!
We Are Also Grateful To Everyone Who Fundraised For The Trip, Helping To Give The Students So Many Special Memories To Carry In Their Disney Bags.
From The Months Of Preparation And Planning Before Rehearsals, To The Moments In The Middle When We Wondered What The Outcome Might Be, And Finally To The Success At The End -It Was A Journey We Always Believed In. We Will Never Forget What An Amazing Bunch Of Students We Had To Work With: The Older Students Helping The Younger Ones, And The Younger Students Looking Up To Them With Admiration. They Reminded Us That, With Teamwork And Belief, Dreams Really Can Come True.

A Special Mention To & Thank You To Carrie Davis For Believing That We Could Do This Together With Both Our Dance Schools. Sharing The Disney Stage With You Was A Brilliant Experience, And One We Cannot Wait To Do Again.
