Such a busy day today

An 8am start and an 8pm finish 🫣

4 clients and 9 ponies between them

Am and pm yard cover for one

Pm cover for another

Field check, in hand walk and poo picking for the third

And then the lovely Harriet who has become a regular on our page was a nice hack

I adore being able to work with so many wonderful horses and there’s nothing better then a busy day

I will be starting to calendar my months and posting them on here so my clients know what availability I have and can book in where there’s space

I’m incredibly blessed to be able to say I am getting busier by the day and what started as me giving freelance a go not thinking much of it, I’m now finding myself with more busy long days then without

It’s not always hard work

Some days it’s getting back from your hack and enjoying some blackberries

After a few days off I got to get back on one of my favourite girls Harriet.

I think a few days of no riding has done her wonders and she stood beautifully at the block for me today whilst I got on and tightened my girth then off we went on a lovely hack beating the heat and the flies!

I then headed up to my own to get him ridden as he’s also had a few days off due to the heat and we have had a lovely schooling session and back home all by 9am!

I absolutely love this job and the freedom it gives me and I absolutely can’t wait for it to transition into my sole income

I will head back out later this afternoon to do my two other clients that are booked in for today including a pamper session for one of their horses and then my own to put to bed and a nice chilled evening!

With 3 amazing regular clients and holiday cover already lined up what was once a dream is starting to become reality for me

I have space for a few more regular clients wether it be yard work or ridden work but like to keep my list small so I can assure all my clients and there horses get the best possible care from me

Early morning starts to get this absolute angel out for her hack before the heat and flies started up in full force

6am I was up at the yard for her and honestly I think it’s my favourite time! It’s cool, the roads are quiet and everyone is still in bed

She’s improving every single ride and starting to understand the concept of we have to stand still at the mounting block and have some patience

She’s a special little mare and there’s not a bad bone in her body, so genuine and sweet! I’m excited to continue watching her grow in her ridden work and just become an all round perfect mare (not that I don’t think she’s already perfect as she is) 🖤

Yesterday concluded my final day of holiday cover for the wonderful Harriet

What a pleasure she’s been to look after this week 🖤

We made great progress with her ridden work and have now successfully had 3 hacks out all different routes and she’s been an absolute saint.

She’s starting to understand standing at the block and we have even had some trots out.

I look forward to continuing her education under saddle and seeing what an amazing horse she becomes.

Every session I learn more about the horses I work with and start to build a clearer picture of what they need to work on.

For Harriet, it’s certainly her patience around the mounting block and understanding that she does actually need to stand still while her human gets on. 😂

Other than that small area, she has been absolutely foot perfect. Considering it’s only the second time I’ve sat on her and our first time leaving the yard together, I couldn’t fault her in the slightest.

She really is a clever little mare.

I managed to get out nice and early and avoid the onslaught of the clegs before heading to another yard for two clients – one clip and one poo pick, water check and general once-over.

From there, it was straight down to my own horse to turn him out for a play in the field for the day, then back home for a few hours before heading out again for my evening visits.

I genuinely love that I’m able to do this as a job. Horses have always been my passion, and after spending 10 long years working up and down the country on different yards, it’s so nice to finally be back in the area doing what I love 🖤
