One reason as to why I’ve been pretty quiet on the model front is that I’ve joined a local cadets as an instructor.

The Marine Training Corps is a fast growing cadet group that have units across the south coast and now also in the Derby area.

Accepting 9-12yrs on the Junior cadet program and 12-17yrs as senior cadets, the MTC give our you g people the chance to join a cadet force to learn military based topics as well as practical life skills.

First Aid, Physical training, STEM, Citizenship as well as get involved with the local community and undertake charity work.

Opportunities to travel, camp, map read, sail and even fly are just some of the activities our cadets will undertake.

Marine Training Corps in the Chaddesden, Spondon, Ockbrook, Morley, Breadsall and Stanley area is where we are based and would very much like to hear from you if you know of any children that would like to join, donations or facilities that you think we may be able to use either as a trip or for local use.
