Great work by all involved to get Vert Skating back in Notts, at Flo Skatepark Nottingham.
Flo Skatepark, GBSB and others sorted it, Really well done 😀👍🏼
Feasibility, Demand study for a Vert Ramp. To complement the great skate scene in Notts.
Gauge interest and passion for a Vert Ramp in the Notts area. A vert ramp of a suitable design could be installed in a suitable council park or on a Charity type skatepark setup in the future.

The idea is still here with us all..... Just a few more examples from around the world, and maybe a phased approach to add a basic portal frame barn to protect a ramp from our challenging weather conditions in the UK 😃

Potential Build Costs
A budget cost was gained for a vert ramp of 40' wide x 11' high, including a lower section, with concrete foundation pads, with a guide cost of £42k (£21 x 2000 kind people). Metal frame and an exterior grade skate surface. Looking at the great fundraising amount they achieved for this vert ramp in Wales, maybe we can do something similar one day soon to achieve a dream once a suitable council park or charity linked space can be founded.

Examples of stepped vert ramp walls, if there is the space and width available to create this potential layout.
This could encourage a wider range of riders with varying skillsets and confidence levels to use the higher vert ramps more, especially if a midi or mini ramp is not close by to build up their confidence..

Just an example of one possible layout, size and features, to encourage the growth of skating a vert ramp.
Worth considering, add to the great skate scene in the East Midlands. You never know....
With indoors parks struggling to justify the large floor space for a vert ramp, maybe an option for an outdoor ramp on a good public space is another solution and is user friendly and encourage new riders to this fun style of riding.
Adding another dimension to the terrain available.

A good example of a lower section being utilised well to move over to the full height part of the ramp.

This USA vert beast has a mini ramp attached with the same transition, then a couple of step-up levels, to progress on. A good idea to encourage and develop riders confidence and skills. Whilst still loads of room for the experienced vert riders.

This vert ramp in the USA has one side with a stepped lower section (less/no vert) to build up confidence with riding a high vert ramp. The highest level is 11'-6" apparently. The lower sections looks similar to some vert ramp heights built in the 1980s in the UK, Maybe a design/layout worth considering to get more riders trying vert again? Learning to drop in on a 14' high ramp isn't going to encourage most people, but maybe a lower sedtion/s would be a good starting point. Plus a channel roll-in.
A vert ramp built for progression and fun for all skill levels and ages, to encourage demand and fun. Whilst nurturing friends and riders communities.
What's your views on a vert ramp to complement a great skate scene and varying terrains, with a goal to encourage more riders on this type of ramp?
