2022 round up! Check out these statistics from Strava
Commuting is up! ⬆️ 💼 🚲 Bike commuting went down in the pandemic – but globally, it’s returning. Women are bouncing back to pre-pandemic levels of commuting more quickly than men. Two out of three bike rides in London are now commutes.
E-bikes are on the rise! 🚴 ⏫The share of cyclists on Strava with an e-bike ride increased 26% this year. Older athletes are much more likely to use e-bikes showing how accessible these bikes are for older demographics.
This year the share of cyclists with at least one 100 mile ride increased by 22% globally- The UK leads the way with new century riders!

Last year the Dutch Reach became an official Highway Code recommendation to protect cyclists and pedestrians better. It's a simple rule to avoid car-dooring.
Opening the car door using your arm furthest away from the door forces you to turn your head, and you can see any oncoming cyclists, pedestrians or traffic.
If you injure someone by opening your car door you could face a fine of up to £1,000 😬
