This Father’s Day, football means so much more than just a result.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Sands United Derby FC will travel to take on Sands United Ashby FC as we go head‑to‑head for the SANDS MIDLANDS TROPHY — playing in loving memory of every angel baby gone too soon, and standing with every bereaved dad and family this Sunday.

For many of us, Father’s Day is a day of mixed emotions — full of love, but also full of missing the little ones we should be holding, celebrating and watching grow. This match is for them, and for every dad carrying an angel in his heart.

Entry is COMPLETELY FREE and everyone is welcome — players, families, friends, supporters and the whole community. Bring the kids, bring a chair, bring your voices, and help us make some noise for both teams. There will be a collection bucket on the day with every single penny going straight to Sands — the stillbirth & neonatal death charity, to continue supporting families when they need it most.

We may not have a permanent home or regular training right now, but we have heart, we have brotherhood, and we have a reason to pull on that blue & orange shirt that is bigger than any game.

ℹ️ How we work right now:
We currently don’t run regular training sessions as we don’t yet have a permanent home venue. Instead we arrange matches, and aim to play at least twice a month around Derby and the local area where possible.

✅ Men’s football – 16+ only
✅ All abilities fully welcome — no trials, no pressure

We play with heart, supporting Sands – the stillbirth & neonatal death charity, and look out for each other on and off the pitch.

We’ve got a **fully booked May** ahead of us and we’re buzzing for it 🙌

However, we’ve still got **no games at the end of this month**, so we’re looking for opponents for the following dates:

📅 Sunday 19th April
📅 Sunday 26th April

We don’t currently have a set home venue, so we’re more than happy to **fill in for any teams needing an opponent last minute** or **go halves on booking a pitch**.

After an incredible 5-4 win last time out, the lads will be looking to back that up with another strong performance this weekend 💪⚽
