A professional performance from the boys today as we secured back-to-back wins for the first time this year — and on our anniversary too 🙌🏻

Setting up in a 5-3-2 formation, the defensive unit was a force to be reckoned with all game. Combined with the work rate and energy in midfield, we controlled the first half and were unlucky to go in at the break only 3-0 up.

To our standards, we probably took our foot off the gas a little in the second half and became complacent in spells, but we stayed resolute and saw the game through despite some late pressure from JE United.

🏅 Manager’s Pick – Jack Rowbottom

Jack came on midway through the first half and was unlucky not to grab himself a goal but for a great save from the JE keeper. He hasn’t had the minutes he probably deserves this season, but he’s developing brilliantly in midfield and some of his passing today was a delight to watch. Well done mate 🙌🏻

🫡 Captain’s Pick – Kye Wood

An important figure in the middle of the park today. Took his goal well, kept everyone organised and would’ve had a few more assists if our strikers could stay onside 👀

A quick word for JE United as well — masses of respect for these lads who started their journey the same day as us. Their team will go far and Jord has got them set up really well 🐏⚽️

Next weekend we face very good friends Rams For Reason FC. As we hit our 1 year anniversary for the team on the Monday 11th May the fixture will be Sunday 10th May 3:30pm KO at the racecourse.

All friends and family are welcome to come watch for free. It’s set out to be a great game with 2 great teams battling it out for what they love doing ⚽️🩷💜.

We will also be heading the Toby Carvery for food and drinks after the game to celebrate whatever the result will be. Hope to see you there 🩷💜

⚽ Rams For Reason FC 3–6 Aaron Tidey United

We kicked off the year with a tough fixture against a strong Aaron Tidey United side. The boys put in a brilliant shift and kept it highly competitive throughout, but unfortunately ran out of steam in the final 15 minutes.

🌟 Man of the Match: Kieran Walsh – outstanding debut at CB, didn’t put a foot wrong!

👏 Captain’s Pick: Seb Jackson – excellent, deputising alongside him at the back.

⚽ Rams For Reason FC 4–2 WB Shrimps (1st March – Derby Racecourse)

A great response from the team as we returned to winning ways! An intense, end-to-end game with plenty of quality on show.

🌟 Man of the Match: Dan Billings – dominant display at centre half while stepping in as captain.

👏 Captain’s Pick: Jack Scotford – controlled the midfield and dictated play superbly.

What a journey it’s been! Today we proudly celebrate the end of our first year since Rams For Reason came together, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come. From the very first kick of the ball to every match, win, loss, and unforgettable moment — this year has been built on passion, commitment, and togetherness and we can’t wait to see what 2026 brings.

A massive thank you to ALL our players for giving everything on and off the pitch, our coaches for their dedication and belief, and our families, and friends who back us week in and week out. Your support truly means everything to us.

As far as debuts go, it couldn’t have gone much better for Ross! 💪
A goal from his very first corner, a clean sheet, and total command of the backline for the full 90 minutes. A leader’s performance and a dream start in Rams For Reason colours. 🔥

Captain’s Man of the Match – Ste Swarbrook
What. A. Cameo. 😮‍💨
Ste came off the bench and absolutely changed the game — capitalised on a defensive mistake to bag a goal, added an assist, and nearly snapped the crossbar in half late on! Electric energy and pure class. ⚽⚡

Honourable Mentions
Dan Billings and Oli Worthington – both put in top-tier shifts and were unlucky to miss out this time. 👏

🐏 MATCH REPORT | Rams For Reason FC 6–0 Derby Street FC ⚽

A sensational performance from the Rams this weekend saw us claim a 6–0 victory over a very strong Derby Street side.

The Rams took the lead through debutant Ross McLoughlin, who marked his first appearance in style by heading home a wicked delivery from Kye Wood’s pinpoint corner.

Both teams looked to play football the right way, keeping it on the floor and showing real quality throughout. The Rams doubled the lead when Oli Worthington continued his fine goalscoring form, making it 2–0 before the break.

At the other end, Jack Evans was outstanding between the sticks, producing a string of excellent saves to keep the clean sheet intact going into half-time.

The Rams came flying out of the blocks in the second half — Kailem Brough made it 3–0 after a superb assist from Wood, who then got himself on the scoresheet with a well-worked team move to make it four.

Swarbrook added a fifth, capitalising on a defensive mix-up to roll the ball into an empty net — that’s two in two for the big man!

Finally, Harrison Westran-Hall rounded off the scoring late on, sealing an emphatic 6–0 win for the Rams.

Another class performance from the lads — but massive respect to Derby Street FC, who were the best footballing side we’ve faced so far despite what the scoreline suggests. We wish them all the best in their upcoming games 👏
