Today the third of the Derbyshire E.B.F. one day competitions took place when the Mens 2 Wood Triples was played at Heanor Miners Welfare.
After some great bowling the two rinks that won through to this years Final were Paul Daws, Don Stevenson & Russ Coe (Victoria Park) and Bernie Greenough, Nigel Chaplin & Steve Menzies (Derby West End).
They will now play each other on Finals Day at Stute B.C. on Sunday 5th July.
Thanks to everyone who took part in today’s competition.
Also a massive thank you to Heanor Miners Welfare for hosting today’s competition and to all their club members who did a great job in keeping us fed and watered all day.
Also thank you to Graham Spencer for letting me have a rest by running the day for me. It is much appreciated.
Our next one day competition will be on Sunday 21st June with the 3 WoodTriples being played at Awsworth.

A Busy Weekend with an EBF County Match against Humberside on Saturday and the Marie Denny Mixed Triples at Victoria Park BC & Long Eaton Town BC on Sunday. Today saw the second of our one day competitions take place. The Marie Denny Mixed Triples at Long Eaton Town and Ilkeston Victoria Park.
The winners at Long Eaton Town were Jane Capill with Gill and Geoff Tait.
Winners at Victoria Park were Andrew Corner, Keith Oldham and Jayne Parnham.
Well done to both rinks and they will now play each other in the Final at Stute B.C. on Sunday 5th July.
Best of luck to both teams.
A big thank you to both host clubs for allowing us to use their greens and to all their club members who kept everyone well fed and watered.
Well done to everyone 👏

Next week it is the turn of Heanor Miners Welfare who will host the 2 Wood Triples.

☀️ What a beautiful day for bowls! ☀️

The Marie Denny Competition is in full swing today at Victoria Park — and with sunshine like this, it’s the perfect setting for some fantastic bowling! 🎯

Players are battling it out across two venues today, with the action also taking place at Long Eaton Town — so there’s plenty of exciting bowls to follow!

The big question on everyone’s lips… who will qualify for the County Finals at The Stute Bowls Club on Sunday 5th July? 🏆

🥤 Refreshments are available, so come down, soak up the sun, and cheer on your favourites!

Today saw the first of Derbyshire’s one day play off competitions with the Mixed Pairs being played at Derby West End and Heanor Community.
After some excellent bowling at both venues we were left with Sharon Dent & Steve Menzies against Kerry & Mike Bowley at Derby West End and Kathryn &Andrew Lee against Linda & Pete Davies at Heanor community.
Both finals turned out to be close matches with Kerry & Mike Bowley winning on the last end 18 -16 and Linda & Pete Davies winning 15-14 on an extra end.

Congratulations to both winning pairs and they now go on to play each other on Finals Day at Stute B.C. on Sunday 5th July.
Good luck to both pairs.

Commiserations to both unlucky runners up.

A massive thank you to everyone at Derby West End and Heanor Community for hosting todays matches and for keeping all the players and spectators well fed and watered. You both did us proud.

We now look forward to our second one day competition which is the Marie Denny Mixed Triples on Sunday 24th May at Long Eaton Town and Ilkeston Victoria Park.
