Darley Abbey FC vs Alvaston FC📸
Sunday 10 May 2026

Our last game was a tough experience but we needed it, it will benefit us in the long run,it was a huge learning curve of how we want to function as a football club but that is now game 2 complete we are very happy about this.⭐️

We are still on target with our future plans and are excited for it ,we will now look to book our next friendly game very soon.✅

Training will be starting again in June all new players will be welcome as we prepare for next season⚽️🙌

🟢🟣🟢🟣🟢🟣

We were excited to compete in our second game ever as a club against a great and established team like Darley Abbey, one of the teams we aspire to be like in the coming years it will take a very long time .🙌

It was a depleted squad on match day as a 14 Man match day squad quickly turned into just 8 players on Sunday.Thank you to Darley Abbey FC for giving us 3 players so that the match could happen, a class act from the manager we really do appreciate it he was always there and willing to help.🙏

A better start in the first half from the Alvaston Forza comparing it to our first game ,the courage was there in a back and forth battle keeping the score at 0-0 for the first 25 minutes.💪

However once the lads conceded the first goal from an indirect free kick Darley Abbey began to take over and more quality goals started coming. There was a difference in match fitness between the 2 teams and with just 11 players the team had to roll up their sleeves and keep fighting through the game.

Darley Abbey were able to freshen things up their players looked sharp having just competed in a full season in the Derby Taverners League we wish them all the best as they compete in the upcoming Summer League.⚽️

We truly did have some good stints during the game but by then the game was over, a positive we take from this is that history was made on Sunday 10 May, As the first ever goal for the club was scored by Lavell⚽️,the first ever assist provided by Jordan⭐️well done lads you will be in the clubs history books forever,a massive moment for the club whether you realise it or not🙌👏

We are still at the start of this journey, there will be ups and there will be downs but we must keep fighting for the badge for each other.

We will never hide any results here at Alvaston FC,the results are the results whether negative or positive we aim to improve.

We have 14 man squad for the game against Darley Abbey which is good but you never know we could possibly end up having just 11 again, lets hope we will have some subs at least, regardless of numbers we will fight until the end⚽️🙏

Alvaston Football Club

History was made on Saturday 28 March as Alvaston Football Club played their first ever game in a friendly match against a tough StockBrook United side who sit top of Division 2 in the Derby Taverners League having only lost 1 league game this season as they look to secure the league title🏆.We expected a very difficult game against such an opponent and it certainly delivered.✅

It was a depleted team for the first ever game as a 15 man squad available slowly turned into just 11 players by Friday due to last minute dropouts, thank you to Stockbrook for lending us a couple of players for the game to help with our injury and fitness problems.🙌

It was a shaky start from the Alvaston Forza as they gave away 2 soft penalties in the first 15 minutes,it was uphill from then.Overall a nervous first half from the lads and it was 5-0 by half time.

It was a better start to the second half from the team as they showed great heart and determination to keep fighting ,it showed great team spirit and the lads had good stints in the second half showing some good counter attacking in some points creating a few good chances to score.💪✅

However by then the damage was done and Stockbrook United dominated the majority of the game showing quick passing ,defensive coordination to be able to keep possession for large amounts of the game.StockBrook went on to score more goals a highlight being a magnificent free kick.⭐️

The Alvaston FC GK pulled off some great saves during the game to keep the score at 7,for a large part of the game it was 7-0 until the 80th when the boys started burning out and slowing down a bit, there were plenty of players with knocks and injuries but they couldn’t get subbed as we had no subs so they all had to hold on until the end, painful, but great for the match fitness of the lads who played.🏃

Despite the result everyone at Alvaston Football Club is very happy that we finally got to have our first ever game as a team. The Alvaston Forza will now regroup and get ready for the next upcoming fixture.⚽️🟢🟣🟢

On Saturday March 28th history will be made as we play our first ever game against a very tough opponent Stockbrook United who themselves have been incredible in the Derby Taverners Sunday Football League pushing for the league title this season.🏆

It is straight into the deep end for the Alvaston players as they make their debut for the club in what will be a challenging match for sure but the players are all excited to finally get on to the pitch build that team chemistry and match fitness.✅⚽️

This is a great chance for the manager to see the talent in his squad ahead of the upcoming 26/27 season and we would also like to thank Stockbrook United for hosting us this weekend.🤝🙏

It has been a long time coming ,the time for hiding in the shadows has come to an end, it is now time for all the players to step into the light, represent and fight for the badge!💪
