GETTING IN A TWIRL THIS TUESDAY
New simple website launch for Galaxy Twirlers, a Baton Twirling and Pom Team based at Swanton Morley Village Hall. They are members of the BBTSA - British Baton Twirling Sports Association. They compete locally and nationally and are looking for new members from +4yrs to join their friendly club.

Introducing coach Kolette.
Kolette started baton twirling at the age of 3 with the Dagenham Deltarettes, where she stayed throughout her twirling journey. At age 11 she was selected for the England squad and went to Switzerland for the European Competition for individual and group sections. At just age 13 she went to Japan for her first World competition, followed by Scotland, revisiting Switzerland, and then the USA. She was also national champion several times which she is very proud of. Kolette gave up the twirling life in 1992 to persue a dancing career which also took her overseas. At 25 she retired, met her husband and settled into family like with her 3 children.
5 years ago Kolette noticed an advert on Facebook for a new twirling team in Swanton Morley. She approached the group leader and started to coach the newly formed team. Since then Kolette has also completed a coaching course with the BBTSA. A few weeks ago she was given the opportunity to take over the club and decided to change the name to mark a new chapter, and so the Galaxy Twirlers were born. There are currently (May 2021) 12 athletes who have all competed in various competitions. Kolette is an amazing coach and clearly loves to share her knowledge and see the athletes grow. She and the team are looking forward to sharing this amazing sport with any new members.

Wow super proud of our girls this weekend. So many awards .......many 1sts lots of 2nds and medals all round . To top it off keira was awarded mist talented athlete of her age grouo for the yr .## well done bbtsa on a magnificent competition snd well done to all my kids who continue to shine and thrive. Xx

Why do you twirl? Molly loves learning new skills. Twirling builds confidence and she enjoys spending time and making memories with her friends.
Favourite memory? Candyman and my freestyle.
Twirled you most look up to? Ella because she's a fantastic twirler and always puts 100% effort in.
Favourite move? Reverse fish tails into forward fishtail and monster to.
Twirl aspirations for the yr? To catch my toss illusion more and to place better at competitions 🥰
