🗞️ A report from the management team on yesterday’s win in Tain…
“Another trip north for us this weekend to face St Duthus, this offered the perfect opportunity to bounce back from our first league defeat of the season.
Full credit goes to the hosts for providing an outstanding playing surface, and the lads made good use of it early on. We caused constant problems down the left side in the opening 45 minutes, carving out several half-chances, though a goal eluded us to begin with. The breakthrough came from a moment of quality, as Cameron Grant scored a free-kick to send us into the break with a deserved 1–0 lead.
The second half began on the back foot when St Duthus struck early to level the score. With the momentum shifted, the match turned into a gritty battle, but the boys showed tremendous character to reset.
The decisive moment came from another set piece, with Dylan Grainger turning home the winner to secure all three points.
While the work rate and fight were unquestionable today, there is still plenty of room for improvement regarding our final quality and decision-making in key moments. Ultimately, coming away with a tough away win is what matters most.
We now turn our focus to an important run of home fixtures, starting this Saturday against Thurso.” - Alan Munro
