Absolute carnage with these kids, but they had the best time!

What a fantastic experience for our Thorne U9s Yellows! 💛⚽️

The team had a brilliant time watching Doncaster Rovers take on Liverpool U21s, but the highlight of the day was undoubtedly being given the opportunity to step onto the pitch at half-time and take part in a penalty shootout! 🥅👏

It was a fantastic experience for the players and one they’ll remember for a long time. Seeing the smiles on their faces as they got to take penalties on the pitch was priceless! 💛

A huge thank you to Doncaster Rovers for inviting our young players along and giving them this amazing opportunity. Experiences like this are what grassroots football is all about — creating memories, inspiring young players and giving them the chance to feel like stars for the day. ⭐️

Thank you, Doncaster Rovers! 👏💛⚽️

These boys were out of this world today 🔥

Markus ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Billy ⚽️⚽️
Jacob ⚽️⚽️

MOTM- Hudson!
Hudson has been our goalkeeper for the past two years but has recently shown an interest in playing outfield too. Today was his first game outfield, and he did some brilliant work! He’s so used to defending our goal that he quickly found himself jumping in to defend whenever needed! 😂 He also made some brilliant saves when back in goal. A fantastic first outing for Hudson — well done! 🏆

PPOTM Markus!
Our parents’ player Markus was absolutely on fire today! His feet were flying and he made everything look effortless.
His teamwork and passing were spot on, linking up brilliantly with the team, and his goals were simply flawless! What a performance from Markus today — class from start to finish! 🏆

What a performance from all the boys today! ⚽️👏

Every single player gave everything from the first whistle to the last. The effort, teamwork, determination and attitude were outstanding, and honestly, this was the best the boys have played all season.

Everyone played their part, worked for each other and showed just how much they’ve developed. There was quality football, great energy and a real togetherness throughout the team.

So proud of every single one of them. They should all be incredibly proud of themselves — what a performance! 💪🔥

Keep working, keep believing and keep pushing forward. The future looks bright! ❤️⚽️

PPOTM- Jaxson T this is well deserved from Jaxson today playing as a defender and a last minute position change to goal keeper really showed your versatility and adaptability in your role, you kept your head up and played brilliantly throughout both roles! well done matey 🏆

What a game from our U9 Yellows today! Both sides played absolutely brilliantly and gave it everything from the first whistle to the last. 👏

We saw some fantastic tackles, brilliant saves, great football and, most importantly, incredible teamwork from both teams. It was also fantastic to see the support from the coaches and parents on both sides — exactly what grassroots football should be about.

We’re struggling to put into words just how proud we are of our boys without sounding like a broken record every week! 😂 But honestly, they continue to give us more and more reasons to be proud.

The resilience they’re showing, the way they’ve come together as a team, and the way they support one another on the pitch has been incredible to watch.

The praise they give each other, the encouragement, the celebrations and the team spirit are all at an all-time high. It’s not just about what happens during the game — it’s the way they’re growing together as a team and as individuals. 💪⚽

Every single one of our players has progressed so much in their own individual way, and seeing that development week after week makes everything worthwhile.

We are beyond proud of every single one of you boys.

Keep believing. Keep supporting each other. Keep working hard. And most importantly… keep enjoying your football! ⚽🔥

⚽️ SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY – THORNE U9s YELLOWS 💛

Would any local businesses or individuals be interested in sponsoring our fantastic Thorne U9s Yellows?

We’re looking to order winter jackets for the team, and we’re looking for a sponsor to help us kit our young players out and make sure they stay warm throughout training and games over the winter months. 🧥❄️

In return, your business logo will be printed on the jackets, which will be worn at:
⚽️ Training sessions
⚽️ Match days
🧥 And as the children’s general winter coats

This means your logo will get plenty of visibility throughout the season while supporting a fantastic group of local children and grassroots football. 💛

If you or your business would be interested in sponsoring the team, or would like to find out more, please drop us a message.

Every bit of support is hugely appreciated. 🙌

Thank you for supporting grassroots football! ⚽️💛

What a brilliant two games our boys had today against Snaith and SWR Tigers in a friendly! ⚽️🔥
All three teams were on fire today, but Club Thorne just edged the win! 🏆👏

Between Markus and Jacob a whopping 14 goals scored! ⚽️

However, this post is more about showing the progress our team have made than the result (although the win is definitely a bonus! 😉).

The improvement in our boys has been fantastic to see. Their footwork, communication, passing and understanding of the game have vastly improved throughout the team. They’re beginning to realise that a great assist can be just as valuable as scoring a goal — and that teamwork is what makes a great team! 👏⚽️

A huge shout-out to this season’s captain, Jacob, who did an incredible job holding the team together today. He showed fantastic sportsmanship, leadership and maturity while taking on the responsibilities that come with being captain. We couldn’t be prouder! 👏💙

Today also showed just how versatile our players are. They took on different roles and positions on the pitch that they may not necessarily be used to, yet they adapted brilliantly and supported each other throughout. 🙌

We are so proud of how far these boys have come. Their dedication to training, their teammates and football as a sport is really starting to shine through.

Keep working hard, keep supporting each other and, most importantly, keep enjoying your football! 💙⚽️

Well done boys — you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves! 👏🔥

⚽️🔥 FRIENDLY MATCH REPORT | CLUB THORNE U9s 🔥⚽️

After spending the summer concentrating on training techniques, our boys were absolutely fantastic in their first friendly back! 💪⚽️

🏆 Club Thorne vs Sherburn U9s

Jacob — ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Markus — ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Caleb — ⚽️

But today wasn’t just about the goals — it was about teamwork, passing, defending, supporting each other and putting all those hours of training into practice. And wow, did they do just that! 👏🔥

The hard work over the last few weeks has definitely paid off, and there were some absolutely outstanding moments from every player.

⭐️ JACOB ⭐️
Jacob has absolutely excelled himself through training, learning that sometimes the best way to create a goal is to make the pass. Today, he showed that perfectly, making some fantastic passes to teammates when he recognised they were closer to goal and had a better chance of scoring. 👏
But Jacob also spotted plenty of opportunities for himself, and his accuracy was absolutely spot on! He had his game face on today, enjoyed plenty of possession and created some fantastic assists alongside his goals.
Brilliant teamwork, Jacob! 👏🔥

⭐️ MARKUS ⭐️
Markus showed fantastic teamwork and dedication today. He stayed focused on the game, studying the opposition and making sure he was marking his player while also positioning himself close to goal, ready for that important pass.
His confidence on the pitch has increased massively, and it really showed today! Some great movement, determination and finishing.
Great work, Markus! 💪⚽️

⭐️ CALEB ⭐️
Caleb showed us today that he isn’t just a brilliant defender — he’s a fantastic all-round player too! 👏
He was in the right place at the right time, supported the goalkeeper brilliantly and worked tirelessly around the pitch. When Caleb spotted an opportunity to score, he took it!
The best part? He didn’t even realise he’d scored until everyone started cheering! 😂🙌 His face absolutely lit up and he was ecstatic!
Brilliant work, Caleb! What a moment! ❤️⚽️

⭐️ BILLY ⭐️
Wow, Billy had the fire in his belly today! 🔥
Once again, Billy showed incredible determination to support his teammates in every way possible — assisting, passing, tackling and putting in some brilliant defensive work.
His confidence with the ball and in his tackling really stood out today, and he showed exactly what it means to be an all-round, dedicated team player.
Fantastic effort, Billy! 💪🔥

⭐️ JAXSON ⭐️
Jaxson, when you’ve got that ball and you’re focused, no one is getting it from you! 😆⚽️
He ran across that pitch with a keen eye, constantly looking for his teammates and searching for the right opportunity to make a pass.
Some brilliant defending, great determination and fantastic teamwork from you today, matey!
Keep it up, Jaxson! 👏⚽️

⭐️ HUDSON ⭐️
Some absolutely cracking saves from Hudson once again! 🧤🔥
His concentration, skill and techniques have improved massively, and his ability to support his teammates from the back was fantastic to see.
Another strong performance between the sticks!
Great work today, Hudson — keep it up! 👏🧤

⭐️ SAM ⭐️
What a debut! 👏⚽️
For his very first game, Sam walked onto that pitch with the confidence of someone who had been playing for years! His determination to get involved, support his teammates and give everything was fantastic.
He even pulled off some brilliant defending!
We hope today has given you an even bigger confidence boost to continue your football journey, Sam. You should be really proud of yourself!

OVERALL — AN OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE FROM EVERY SINGLE PLAYER! ⚽️
The goals were fantastic, but what really stood out today was the teamwork.
From passing and assisting to defending, marking, supporting the goalkeeper and encouraging one another, the boys showed just how much they’ve taken on board from training.
The summer work, dedication and effort are clearly paying off, and today was a brilliant way to start back football💪🔥

Well done, boys — you should all be incredibly proud of yourselves! 💙💛

Our boys would say soaking coach Aaron was the best part of the day 😂😂

The U8 Yellows took part in a challenging tournament today, facing some very strong opposition throughout the day. Despite the tough competition, every player worked incredibly hard, giving their absolute best in every match and never giving up.

There were some fantastic moments on display, including beautiful passing moves that showed how much the team has developed and grown together. The players worked tirelessly for one another, demonstrating great teamwork, determination, and a positive attitude from start to finish. And an absolutely cracking goal from Markus which was beautifully assisted by Jacob ⚽️

Defensively, there were some brilliant saves that kept the team in games and highlighted the courage and concentration of our goalkeeper. Across the pitch, every player contributed, supporting each other and working as a unit against some talented teams.

While the results may not tell the full story, the effort, commitment, and sportsmanship shown by the U8 Yellows were outstanding. The coaches and parents should be extremely proud of the players, who represented the team brilliantly and showed what can be achieved through hard work, teamwork, and a great attitude.

Well done lads!
