END OF SEASON! 🙌🏏

A great way to finish the 2026 season today, with U10s and Seniors in action at The Grazings! 👍

After the disappointment of a rained off Davidson’s Cup game yesterday for the U14s, the sun came out to play in full force and we got some great cricket played.

The U10s were up first this morning, with LOC Hire Stenhousemuir Cricket Club & Stirling County Cricket Club players the visitors. The youthful team put in a great effort in their two games. Plenty to be proud of for them this season! 💙

The Seniors then welcomed new friends from Hillhead Cricket Club this afternoon.

It was a great Sunday game played in great spirits. Superb to see Tom Ashmore (pictured) get his maiden 50 for the club, with club skipper, Louis, also making 50 today.

With the ball, Ali Hughes was the star of the day, taking three wickets. Credit to young Oliver Ward as well though, who bowled a great 5 overs and was unfortunate not to take a wicket 👏

In the end it came down to the last over, with Ali and William Bonham battling to reach the target. The team fell just short in the end, but a great effort from start to finish.

Awards season will soon be upon us, with Junior Awards this month and Senior/Walking Awards next month! We’ll then return indoors after the October school holidays! 👍

U14s

The U14s look to retain the Davidson’s Cup tomorrow, at home to LOC Hire Stenhousemuir Cricket Club. The team won a great game last year away at Rossie Priory CC to keep the trophy!

Rain looks like it could be an issue. Keep an eye for updates in the morning 😬

If it does stay dry, players to meet at 12pm for a 1pm start 👍

U10s

The U10s are at home on Sunday morning, welcoming players from across the Forth Valley.

Great to see a debut for Ethan!

Players to arrive at 9:30am for a 10am start 👍

SENIORS

The Seniors welcome a Hillhead Cricket Club XI to The Grazings on Sunday afternoon for the final D&D match of the season.

George Herbst takes the captaincy. Great to see James, Ali and Jodie back in the lineup, as well as a debut for Amy and a full senior debut for William! 🙌🏏

Players to meet at The Grazings at 12pm for a 1pm start. Please bring teas for 2 people! 🥪🍰

Here is the D&D Senior team for this Sunday’s fixture! 🏏

With our league games now all done, we’ve got 2 remaining weekends with friendly fixtures to round off the season.

The Seniors are heading to Meigle Cricket Club to face their 2s tomorrow. Weather looks like it could spoil the day, but we’ve got our fingers crossed we’ll get a game on 🤞

Great to see a mix of youth and experience in the side! 🙌

1pm start @ Victory Park in Meigle. Players to meet at the ground for 12:15pm.

SENIORS WIN THEIR LAST LEAGUE GAME 🙌

A great game for the Senior 1st XI yesterday to round off their 2026 league campaign! 🏏

Louis once again won the toss and elected to bat on a sunny afternoon at The Grazings. D&D started off well with the bat with the skipper getting his maiden ton and Chris doing what he does best, scoring runs freely. It was another record partnership between the two, sharing 196 runs, with the team ending on 237/2.

Then with the ball, the lads didn’t panic when the Clackmannan County Cricket Club openers flew out the gates. Brilliant bowling from Alex “The Scorer” Russell and James Barker on debut, before Dan and George completely nullified their scoring with consistent bowling! 👏

Fielding was great, again led by Paul Geddes and young Gregory deserves a special mention for his outstanding contributions in the field, including a crucial catch at deep square leg. The run out at the end really topped it off from James on debut, with a direct hit to end the game!

A brilliant end to the league season for the team. No cricket today, with rain spoiling the day, but still a couple more weeks of the outdoor season to look forward to! 👍
