Well done to the athletes who braved conditions on Wednesday to take part in some running, strength exercises and of course sharks and fishes. It was a lot colder, wetter and more miserable than it looks!

Training on Wednesday

Fresh off the bleep test the week prior, another good turnout at the Grammar School from Dunbar Juniors.

The athletes warmed up and competed in a group athletics quiz, running to either side of the gym hall based on what they thought was the correct answer. The questions got harder and harder and of course all related to athletics! If the athletes got the answer wrong then they had to complete an exercise, for example press ups or burpees.

We then split into groups, Ben taking a run outside with Matt and Oleg, doing the route next to the car park. Despite it being a cold night the athletes braved the conditions (with some choosing to wear only shorts and t shirts!).

Chris took a session with the medicine balls alongside Jen, looking to improve on upper body strength and core muscle strength 💪

Finally, Fraser alongside Marty Sarah and Hannah set up an obstacle course looking to get the athletes moving in different directions and test their agility. Basketball skills were also tested!Athletes were timed and there was some great results with the group winners being Archie Burton, Jamie Tucker and Lauchlan Summers. Anna Perkins also completed the fastest time in the girls section 👏
