Dunblane Bowling Club

A beautiful day yesterday for our first West Perthshire League game of the season against our friends from Callander Bowling Club.

Dunblane won the day winning 2 out of 3 rinks and taking away 4 points with Callander winning the bonus point and taking away 3 points.

Thanks to all who played and all who came to spectate.

Thank you so much to all who attended our try bowls day yesterday. We had a great time and look forward to seeing you all back at the club soon.

A big thank you also to all the member volunteers who helped out.

Today we held our annual charity match which this year was in aid of Strathcarron Hospice.

Thank you so much to all who attended and donated raffle prizes (most of which were won by Kenny 😂). The weather was much kinder this week and we all had a great time on and off the green.

Congratulations to the winning team of Stevie Robb, Joan McLaughlan, Rebekah Kittridge and Sheila Whelan.

The raffle alone raised £210 which will be added to the other donations collected via the charity tins. There are plans for another event for Strathcarron later in the season and a grand total will be announced after that.

This past Saturday (4th April) saw the opening of the green for the 2026 season. Unfortunately Storm Dave prevented most of the proceedings going ahead as planned. however, a good turn out of members braved the rain to watch Honorary Ladies President Mary Wright and Honorary Gents President Graham Russell deliver the first bowls of the season.

The management committee would like to wish all our members a great season ahead and to invite anyone interested in trying out bowls to attend our try bowls event on Saturday 18th April, more details of which will follow very soon.

We’ve had a great pre-season warm up at Fintry Sports Club. A brilliant venue, we will definitely be back!! Thanks to all the staff.

🚨Opening Day 2026 🚨

Dunblane Bowling Club will be kicking off the 2026 season with our annual Opening Day on Saturday 4th April!!

We will be having the traditional Spider followed by a friendly game. There will also be a raffle, donations of prizes for which would be greatly appreciated. Tea and Coffee will be available along with home baking (again, donations would be greatly appreciated) and the bar will of course be open too.

All members wishing to play on the day should arrive at the club no later than 1.45pm for a 2pm start. The management committee look forward to welcoming you all back to the green.

As we come to the end of another great year at Dunblane Bowling Club; we’d like to take the opportunity to thank those involved.
