Man Pins are a collaboration between jeweller Islay Spalding and woodworker Louise Forbes. Hardwood pins designed to be worn on a lapel, jacket or kilt.
A shared workshop, love of wood, clean lines and letter pressed greyboard led to the creation of the Man Pin. Each one is made and finished by hand in Dundee from sustainably sourced hardwood with a hand made sprung steel pin. Collections are limited with edition numbers and wood types hand written on the letter pressed greyboard backing cards, the back of the card gives you some information about
the woods in the collection. The African Collection was first to launch, made with four types of colourful African hardwoods, followed by The Scottish Collection with new shapes and styles to choose from and a redesigned pin. The most recent collection, Fruit Wood and Resin, is made from five different fruit woods with coloured resin stripes. Collections in the pipeline include the My Man Pin Was A…Collection and the Solar System Collection. Limited amounts of Cufflinks and Tie Clips in a variety of shapes and styles are made from the same woods of each collection. Bespoke Man Pins can be commissioned in a range of woods and styles and can be personalised with laser engraving making them the perfect gift for grooms and groomsmen or groups of friends and family.
