πŸ† UNDER 11 RUGBY – TEAM OF THE YEAR! πŸ†

Our Under 11 (now our Under 12’s) rugby team has done something truly remarkable – crowned Team of the Year at Dunfermline RFC, triumphing over every side in the club, including youth squads, senior men’s, and women’s teams! πŸ’₯ (this is only the second time in the clubs history that a mini team has achieved this award 😳)

These young stars have shown that age is no barrier when it comes to teamwork, determination, and passion for the game. From their fearless tackling to their relentless drive, they’ve inspired the entire club and set the standard for what rugby is all about.

πŸ‘ A huge congratulations to the players, coaches, and families for an unforgettable season.

The future of rugby is in safe hands – and it looks unstoppable! πŸ‰πŸ”₯

From Dunfermline rugby club minis, we want to wish all our U12’s the very best as they now move to youth rugby. For the last 4/5 years we have watched them grow to the young men they are becoming. We as a club couldn’t be prouder of them and look forward to watching them continue to grow.

Below is from their coaching team.

U12 Sign off in the sun

Fresh off their tour the Fife & Forfarshire cup @ Madras was their fond farewell to minis rugby for the U12s, always a highlight in the calendar.

Things started well, soundly avenging a silly loss to Glenrothes from the week before tour, before tough & close games against Madras, Howe, Carnoustie, Dundee & Strathmore, the hard pitches drained the reserves and we were down to the walking wounded southing aches & bumps with our dwindling supply of icepacks by the end.

Couple of quick presentations to the boss as we leave her stable, players presented Tammy with some flowers and one of those instant classic tour shirts to show their appreciation for her hard work & support. Coach Matt also handed over to her care their tour mascot Wee Malcy, who we very much looks forward to seeing have great new adventures with the U12s touring teams that follow on behind us each year.

From the coaches & myself, thankyou to our players, parents and assorted other hangers on for another season of hard work & support, as a brand new group just 12 months ago they have made great strides together and we had some great breakthroughs that we'll all remember for a while yet.

To those mentioned above, the other minis teams & coaches that have helped us keep and drive up the high standards of rugby that we start to expect from these young men(and ladies we've had in the past), folks from the big teams who came down and inspired the next generation of the club to reach where you are and everyone that attended games, bought cakes, cups of tea, bacon rolls, sponsored a horse or attended our Race Night, you've all contributed to a massive year for the team, helped them have a fantastic tour to cap off their time in the minis.

Onto ties, more bodies, 50:22s, pushing in scrums, bigger pitches and multi course banquets after the games!

πŸ‰U12’s tour updateπŸ‰

Another early start for our tourists, stripping their bunks before bear crawling their dorms for ripe socks, crisps and discarded jelly babies before dorm inspection. Straight to breakfast before a quick catch-up court to absolve the acused (read coaches) of their sins by water torture πŸ”«

Jacobs ladder provided the team's physical challenge in morning activities while the mental conundrum was who to vote for Player of the Tour.

Before we knew it, lunchtime called and back on the bus, 6 hours and a refuel at maccas and a glittering awards show we returned to the sunshine of Mckane where welcoming parents were thrust into the tour dock charged with child abandonment with 5 grumpy coaches, unanimously found guilty in record time before the executioner provided swift justice once more βš–οΈπŸ”«

Finally we announced Ruaridh as Player of the Tour πŸ… before we all headed home for a big old well deserved sleep.

U11s - Wee Malcy had a blast with us and is looking forward to his adventures with you next year πŸ¦šπŸ‰

πŸ‰U12’s tour updateπŸ‰

Another early start for the U12’s some right up for it some were still waking up.

Dinnington RUFC were superb hosts to nearly 900 minis this morning. Dunfermline trooped on and represented our club in their resplendent tour shirts which gathered even more attention than their silky rugby.

Under adverse conditions and a new ruleset they grew more and more into each game as we progressed finishing with a game against our hosts.

In the spirit of rugby friendship we presented them with one of our tour shirts, dibs were heard called several times before anyone got a proper look, though from talking to club officials it's more likely to take pride of place adorning the walls off their clubhouse.

Back to base on the bus, everyone is burst especially the coaches, an early night lies ahead. πŸ¦šπŸ‰

πŸ‰U12’s tour updateπŸ‰

After an early start from the club, and 5 hours on the bus, our boys headed straight into activities such as

ziplining,
nightline
And making of beds before tour court was held (let’s hope they remember how to do this when then get home πŸ™„πŸ˜‚),

All the boys are knackered but had a blast.

Ready for rugby in the morning πŸ¦šπŸ‰
