A soggy but lovely session 😁
Discover Bushcraft runs bushcraft sessions for children, families and adults. I currently use two small woodlands based in and around Thaxted.
I have been delivering bushcraft and nature based sessions to groups and individuals for 15 years. Those groups and individuals vary from special needs groups and individuals to bushcraft enthusiasts young and old. Over the years I have seen the magic of the woods and the delight of learning bushcraft skills embolden and make happy anxious, bored and sometimes unhappy children and teenagers. I've

Pink bells, forget-me-nots and Iris, some of the colourful flowers in Clarence House Garden. Also the first harvest for crafts, daffodils for cordage and weaving, these stems when dried make beautiful crafts. The seed heads I will save for wreath making.
Do come and see us this Sunday for Open Garden, especially if you'd like to be involved in helping out.

I am very pleased to announce that I have taken on the role of managing Clarence House Garden, I am excited, grateful and a little bit terrified.
I have big hopes and ambitions for this calm oasis in the centre of our town. It's been there since 1715, I am hoping to play my part in making sure it's there for another 300 years!
Like most community projects, it will rely heavily on the time and efforts of local people (as it has done for the last couple of decades)
I am putting out a huge, heartfelt request to the people of Thaxted to get involved. Young or old, families and friends, Guides, Scouts, Brownies, Cubs, Rainbows and Beavers; you will all be welcome!
It's not just gardening folk we need, it will take all sorts of skills to make this happen.
People of Thaxted, you are warmly invited to come and visit the garden on April 19th between 10am and 5pm. We'll have cake and hot drinks to sell as our first fundraiser. You will be able to look about and see (and comment) on some the ideas and hopes I have for the garden and how you might get involved.
I am hoping that within our community we will have: cakemakers 🙂 * growers * composters * social media folk * handypeople * brewers * fruit lovers * wildlife pond people * event makers * fundraisers * grant applicators * grass cutters * photographers * artists * wildlife habitat creators + people who like a physical challenge
If you can't make the event - no worries, drop me an email and I will make sure you are kept up to date, [email protected]
Thank you all
