It is with a great deal of sadness that I announce that today was my last match in charge of Romford Women.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my spell at Romford FC and found the environment to be incredibly supportive. I’d especially like to thank the existing fan base for the way they have wholeheartedly embraced the women’s team. and I am sure that will continue after my departure.
It has been an absolute pleasure to coach this very talented group of players. I will forever remain extremely proud of the teams development and our performances this season, as well as the numerous first team debuts that we were able to award to players from our u16s squad.
I’m now leaving the team well placed at the top end of the Premier Division, with a realistic shot at promotion as well as an eagerly awaited League Cup Quarter Final draw.
An opportunity has arisen for me at Clapton FC that was simply just too good to turn down. I would like to thank the club for their understanding, and I hope that the players can push on for promotion and end the season with some well deserved silverware. I shall remain a fan of the Boro Belles and I hope that I will be celebrating their success at the end of the season with my fellow supporters.

Neil Warnock: “You can have all the coaching manuals, all the university degrees, and all this, and all that. You modern guys, you youngsters, it’s all data and all that.
But do you know 90-95% of being successful is man management... getting the best out of what you’ve got.
Whether you run a garage, a corner shop, or whatever: get the best out of your staff! That’s why I’ve had so many successes.
Look at my promotions, we were never the best team, but you won’t want to play against us.” 👌
Jason Murray:
“ It’s true there’s more to football management than cones and certificates or the algorithms on new metrics of footballs great data revolution . But why not embrace both if it gives you the edge over an opponent “

On the sidelines in 2023 my 💭
Please see my 4th point this is personal and I’m certainly not claiming its a definitive list .
1-Players listen, when you make sure they are heard .
2–If you believe in your players they believe in themselves .
3-Your only as good as the team around you , choose wisely .
4-You don’t have all the answers .
5-Understand and appreciate the experience in the room .
6-Aim for simplicity and clarity in your message.
7-Be honest .
8-Know what the team you want looks like.
9-Provide opportunities and reward consistency .
10-Coach the player not the performance.
11-Leaders create leaders .
12- Get the right players on the bus.
