🏆 NOTTS COUNTY CUP – BIG SUNDAY 🏆

It’s County Cup weekend for both Albert Sports Bar FC sides, and both teams will be looking to put last weekend behind them after defeats in the league.

⚪️⚫ FIRST TEAM
The First Team are back in the County Cup after being involved in the competition last season. A chance to step away from league football, reset and put in a big cup performance. They’ll be looking to show what Albert is all about and start another County Cup journey.

🔴⚫ RESERVES
For the Reserves, this is a historic day as they make their debut in the Nottinghamshire County Cup. After last weekend’s loss, there’s no better opportunity to bounce back, with a few new faces also coming into the squad. A massive game and a chance to make history for the Reserves.

🔴⚫⚪ ALBERT SPORTS BAR FC | WEEKEND ROUND-UP ⚪⚫🔴

A difficult Sunday for both Albert sides, with both teams putting up a fight but unfortunately coming away without the results we wanted.

⚫⚪ FIRST TEAM — 2–3 FC TICKHILL

A disappointing first half saw the First Team go into the break 2–0 down after struggling to find their rhythm.

The lads came out much stronger after the restart and pulled one back to make it 2–1, before Tickhill restored their two-goal advantage.

Liam ‘Crossy’ Cross then produced a brilliant free kick to make it 3–2, giving Albert a real chance of getting something from the game. The boys pushed right until the final whistle, but the equaliser wouldn’t come.

⭐ MOTM — Luke Pickering

A strong performance at centre-back, battling hard throughout and showing plenty of composure under pressure.

🔴⚫ RESERVES — 1–6 MORTON Reserves

The Reserves travelled to Morton looking to bounce back from last week’s result and faced a strong opposition.

After going 1–0 down at half time, Albert came flying out of the blocks and Lee ‘Gally’ Gallagher levelled just two minutes into the second half with a great finish, following excellent work from Harry Overton and Aaron Emmerson.

Unfortunately, Morton eventually pulled away with some quality finishing. Despite the scoreline, there were plenty of positives, with Albert showing some brilliant football and plenty of fight for large parts of the game.

⭐ MOTM — Matthew Cassidy

A tireless performance in midfield, working hard, battling for every ball and continuing to drive the team forward until the final whistle.

Two tough results, but we dust ourselves down, take the positives and go again. 💪

It’s another big Sunday for Albert Sports Bar FC, with both sides back in league action! ⚽️

⚫⚪ FIRST TEAM

After getting the season off to a winning start last weekend, the First Team are back in action and finally get to play their first home game of the season. 🏠

The lads welcome FC Tickhill to Cannon Park — the best Sunday League pitch around. 🌱🔥

🔥 ALBERT SPORTS BAR FC | MATCHDAY ROUND-UP 🔥

A weekend of two very different battles for the Albert Sports Bar sides. ❤️🖤

⚫ FIRST TEAM | MORTON 3–4 ALBERT SPORTS BAR FC

What a fu***ng game and what a result! 😮‍💨🔥

We went 3–1 up on the 60th minute, before being reduced to 10 men for the final 30 minutes. Josh was shown a red card for dissent after a terrible decision from the linesmen which angered our skipper. Morton fought their way back to 3–3, but the lads refused to give in.

Then, in the 80th minute, Liam Reeve stepped up to grab the winner and complete a huge 4–3 victory! 🦁

⚽ Liam Reeve x2 — diving header & a brilliant chip
⚽ Skully — sat his man down before calmly slotting home
⚽ Josh Porter — peeled off his man and powered a header home from the corner

MOTM — Kyle Taylor 🏆
A brilliant performance and fully deserved.

10 men. 30 minutes. 4–3 winners.
That is the character of this team. 👊

A huge amount of credit to the lads who showed up, grafted and battled from the first minute to the last. ❤️🖤

It wasn’t an easy day, as 5/6 lads dropped out on the morning but everyone who pulled on the shirt put in a shift and fought for the badge.

Wolfie and Jack were sensational at the back, battling for everything and putting in a proper defensive performance. 👏

A massive mention also goes to Azza Baker, making his Sunday League debut at 30 years old. Stepping into the sticks and producing a brilliant performance. 🧤🔥

🚨 TOMORROW | FIRST TEAM VS RESERVES 🚨

It’s been a bit of a struggle this week trying to get a pitch sorted, but thankfully we’ve managed to get one secured and tomorrow we’re ready to go! 🙌

Tomorrow sees Albert Sports Bar FC First Team take on the Reserves in the final game of pre-season for both sides.

🚨 THE BIG ONE — LUKE “PICKO” PICKERING 🚨

We’ve saved one of the big ones 👀

We’re delighted to welcome Luke Pickering, “Picko”, to Albert Sports Bar FC First Team. 🖤🤍

A big centre-back with plenty of experience, Picko is no stranger to the surroundings either, having previously played for Retford United — the very ground we call home.

Strong, experienced and exactly the type of player you want at the back. We’re absolutely buzzing to have him on board.

Welcome to Albert, Picko. The big man has arrived. 💪

🚨 THREE NEW SIGNINGS | FIRST TEAM 🚨

We’re delighted to welcome Nathan Bainbridge, George Spowart & Cameron Manning to Albert Sports Bar FC. 🖤🤍

Nathan joins from East Markham, where he captained the side we demolished 4-0 in pre-season 😂. A leader, composed on the ball and a quality addition to the squad.

George Spowart brings plenty of technical ability. Calm on the ball, good with his feet and comfortable under pressure, he does add some serious quality to the team.

Cameron Manning has already hit the ground running, with 2 appearances and 3 goals since joining. 🔥

Three new faces. Three different qualities. One stronger Albert.

But… WE’RE NOT DONE YET. 👀

FULL-TIME: ALBERT SPORTS BAR 3-2 FC TICKHILL 🔴⚫️

What a comeback from the lads. 👏

We found ourselves 2-1 down going into the hydration break, but a formation change completely changed the game. The lads responded brilliantly, showed great character and togetherness, and turned the game around to come away with a 3-2 victory.
