π Thank You, Sussex Community Foundation! π
We're delighted to share that, thanks to a recent grant from Sussex Community Foundation, East Sussex Hearing has been able to expand our reach and reintroduce our popular Hearing Aid Maintenance (HAM) sessions in Rye and Langney.
These local sessions make it easier for people with hearing loss to access support, maintenance, batteries and advice closer to home.
A huge thank you to Sussex Community Foundation for helping us continue supporting communities across East Sussex. π

Physical Activity in Older Age
Did you know that strength and balance naturally declines as we get older?
The good news is that the UK Chief Medical Officers' guidance shows that regular strength and balance activities can slow this decline, helping you stay stronger, steadier and independent for longer.
The graph in the image below shows the difference:
π Without regular strength and balance exercise, our physical ability declines more quickly.
π With regular strength and balance activities, we stay above the level needed for an active, independent life for much longer.
That's why older adults are encouraged to:
πΆ Be active everyday - remember, some movement is always better than none
πͺ Do activities to improve strength, balance and flexibility at least twice a week.
β₯οΈ Aim for 150 minutes of moderate activity each week (or 75 minutes of vigorous activity if you're already active)
πͺ Break up long periods of sitting by standing or moving around regularly
Being active isn't just about living longer - it's about living well, staying confident, reducing your risk of falls, maintaining your independence and continuing to do things you love.
It's never too early - and it's never too late - to build strength and improve balance.
