Today I've been on a 56 pegger. A charity match expertly ran every year by John Eccles at Rycroft Fisheries..

We are spread across 4 lakes both Canals Moat and Clover.

At the draw I've been handed 6 old canal. A lake I know well thankfully :)

I've fished pellet for the first half of the match. Just off the far bank in 3ft of water. Had the odd tench and skimmer nothing really to shout about.
Last 2 hours not going anywhere quick I've decided to go into the jungle. Tight across on corn over micros and its literally been lift off. For the last 90 minutes I've had probably a fish every put In. Amazing fishing.

Come the scales I've weighed 87lb odd for a lake win....
With the venue fishing hard I've managed to come 2nd overall. Another 30 minutes I'd have won. Was luke a steam train at the end :)

Well done on an another amazing run match.

3 matches to report on. Easier to do one post than one each day.
I've placed each day.... never in contention to win my lake but I've done well to come where I've come.
I've had a 3rd 2nd and 3rd so at least 3 pick ups :)

First day was Makins drew peg 1 on Avon. Steady peg. Not as good as 4 or 5 but still a steady area where you can catch fish. I've weighed 85lb for a 3rd on the lake... I've caught all my fish down my margins. Nothing at 14.5m which proper shocked me. I've caught on pellet to my right and meat to my left. Rotating to try and keep fish coming. Massive well done to Edge winning with 126lb

Second match was again at Makins... this time drew peg 12 on lizard... a good peg on the lake and one I'd fish time and time again..... I've caught all my fish at 16m at the point of the island. All on pellet changing feeding was key throughout the day to keep fish coming. I've used two different style rigs as well. One which pinned the pellet to the deck and another lightly strung rig to flick over the feed both worked well. I've come 2nd on the lake with 100lb odd. Massive well done too Oggy winning the lake with 140lb.

3rd match was at Freizeland pools. I've drew pretty bad in peg 16. Spoke to a couple of anglers and all said no chance from where I was... I've tried different things to catch but bites were really hard to come by... I've managed to settle on 14.5m out feeding micros with pellet on the hook. I've winkled out 9 carp for 45lb which has managed to come 3rd. Very happy with that from where I drew.

So done OK really over my last 3 matches. Consistently up there which is great.... :) roll on when Marks back from holiday to get some new gear ordered 😎🎣🐟

Don't usually post about evening matches because generally don't think I need too but tonight I've gotta post to get this Coopers hoodoo off my back 🤣🤣

Draw last night and I was put on peg 30... usually a very hard area, not the greatest at all...

I've got here this afternoon and the whole lake was black with fish sunbathing.... so straight away I've set a mugging rig up. To be fair all I've set up is a mugging rig and an edge rig.

First hour I've had 5 muggers for 46lb which was a great start..... all on am 8mm home made dyed pellet. 😍 hoping the fish stayed but they soon disappeared :( I've rotated edge and a slapping rig for the remainder of the match catching the odd fish.

Come the scales I've weighed 71lb for the match win 🏆sorry Grant 🙈..... absolutely over the moon. Not usually arsed about evening matches just abit of fun really... but me and Coopers lake have a love hate relationship and im very chuffed to have won.

Wheelspin Matt has lost his title to Wheelspin Pete 🤣🤣 giving me grief at the start 🤣

So today I've had a day of match fishing to do a little coaching/having some fun with my cousins lad George :)

We chose on going to Bjays an amazing little fishery in Weston on Trent. There was a match but Brian has let us go down the bottom out the way on peg 19 :)

We've had an amazing 3 hours fishing. Thank you so much Brian. George has done amazing for his first time. We've caught carp skimmers and ide on meat or pellet.

Last put in Dan has ploughed some micros in on a top kit line hoping for the sturgeon which would have topped the day off. We've only gone and hooked it. Played it for 3 or 4 minutes and the bloody things snapped us.

However George has weighed 35lb 12oz not bad for his first ever go. Really did amazing and I think he's got the bug 🎣🐟🤣

Thanks to Brian for letting us fish am Dan for helping out as well. Even got Ryan mugging a couple fish at the end 🤪🎣🐟

Today's match has seen me back at Makins spread across Reptile and Lizard.

I've drawn out peg 19 and having seen the weights (peg 19 last on the lake) from Thursday I really didn't fancy it.

I've had a match that I want to forget. Nothing has worked and I just think that there wasn't much down the edge or my side of the island otherwise I'd have had more indications.....Had probably 20 to 25lb of carp and 15lb of skimmers. The fish i have caught were on banded pellet. Chucked back around 3pm to get back quicker. Just put it down to one of those days. We all have them 🙈🤣

Foxy I reckon would have won everywhere he went seemed to have worked so well done mate.

Nothing on tomorrow as going to Bjays with Dan, Ryan (cousin) and his lad George for a few hours. Teach them while they are young :)

Pellet Guys pairs next weekend can't wait.
