This morning I had planned to go a short run along the beach to clear my mind. I found a pace I felt comfortable at and maintained it along the trail. I was able to take in the scenery around me whilst getting lost in my thoughts. I eventually looked down at my watch to see I had already complete 4k! I was feeling good so I continued to run along the path.
Usually before a run I set myself a distance or time I want to achieve. I do tend to find myself constantly looking down at my watch to see how many kilometers I have left forcing myself to push harder so it can be over.
Today was different. I had no pressure to do a certain distance or knock of a few minutes from my previous times. I had no expectations whatsoever! I just ran for me and continued to do so for 12k. I physically felt incredible for achieving that but most importantly I mentally felt so much better for it. Finishing my run with a positive mindset!
It is so important to allow time for YOU 🗣️ Allow yourself to unplug and unwind! Whether you do that by running, reading, painting, meditation etc the list goes on. Make it a priority in your day. You will not regret dedicating a bit of time for yourself each day ❤️

Feel like death but we move.. Currently doing more of a hybrid training approach in prep for my first Hyrox in 3 weeks time ! Praying this cold shifts 🤞🏼

Group cycle killed me off tonight 🥵 Nobody to blame but myself! Definitely one of my favorite classes to teach🚴♀️
