About the Club
Our History
The Scottish Wildcats is a newly formed club with a number of years behind it's formation. Women wheelchair basketballers and coaches came together in 2016 to form a new women's team consisting of members from existing mixed-sex clubs from all over Scotland. This women's team was adopted by a club based in Northern England and our players entered their first year of competition play.
After this debut season, our adopted club refocused their attention onto their existing teams, and our current members continued to compete under the adoption from another club.
2017 saw the women compete again and after a successful season for the team and with a vision of the future, our members came together to form our own identity and the Scottish Wildcats was born.
Our Future
The club continues to support and develop female Scottish players in their journey within the sport of Wheelchair Basketball, and gives them access to high-level competition.
We envision a second team in the future to encourage a higher level of participation in the sport for our new members.
We aim to be able to nurture new talent and give the girls and women of Scotland a pathway to play side by side with the best UK players, enabling them to access high-level competition.
