Would you like to help develop the next generation of cyclists? Are you keen to pass on the love you have for cycling to those just starting their cycling journey or perhaps you are keen to pass on your knowledge to those with obvious talent and a passion to succeed? For nearly 10 years Edinburgh RC has developed young cyclists from beginner to elite level and every type of rider in between. We’re looking to grow our Coaching team to ensure we can continue to develop youth cyclists across Edinburgh and meet the increase in demand for our growing sport. We’re not looking for especially fit or especially skilled cyclists. We’re looking for those with a real passion for developing youth cyclists, and for developing their own skills in this area. Edinburgh RC currently operates from 3 locations; Queen Margaret University, Inch Park and Drumbrae Leisure Centre, from which we offer weekly Go-Ride sessions. We coach youths aged 6-16 in the basics of cycling and then progress learning in the disciplines of Mountain Biking, Cyclocross and Road Cycling. Previous coaching or leadership experience is welcome, but this doesn’t need to be within cycling. We are, however, looking for dynamic, enthusiastic individuals with experience of working with children. Edinburgh RC will support candidates to gain nationally recognised qualifications from British Cycling. If you have any coaching qualifications already this is a bonus. The roles are all voluntary, but in addition to the support to achieve the required qualifications, coaches will receive kit and equipment necessary for the role. All work with children and young adults is regulated work, hence all our volunteers complete the PVG process through Disclosure Scotland, supported by our club Wellbeing and Protection Officer. For an informal chat, or to find out more, please contact our coaching coordinator via our website’s contact page (https://www.edinburghrc.co.uk/contact) using the drop-down selection ‘Coaching Coordinator’.

Wee video from last Saturday's Go-Ride North at Drumbrae Leisure Centre - this is exactly the sort of session we will be building to at our NEW Go-Ride venue, Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, and our runs at our longest running venue - Go-Ride South at Inch Park. These sessions build the skills for having fun on a bike and discipline specific skills for those who want to race. (currently anyhow!).

Apologies to anyone who tried to enter an Under 8 rider previously - I've been informed that the age range was set incorrectly. Thankfully it's now fixed and I'll change anyone incorrectly assigned into the right category today.
