Pre-Season is starting at Porty and we're kicking off with a great event hosted by one of our new sponsors - Run Seamus Run!

Run from Seamus's Pub in Tollcross to Dougal's Portobello. Tickets cost £10 with all ticket proceeds go to Portobello Rugby Club (and a pint of stout at the finish line).

Leave Seamus's between 12 and 2pm, then run via the Meadows, Holyrood Park & Duddingston to Dougals on Portobello High Street - 4 mile route and almost all downhill!

Next week we get back on the grass, laying down fitness benchmarks for the season and working on our attacking game plan!

As you will have seen on Friday, Sean Kneeshaw is continuing as Club Captain for 2026/27.

Pre-Season kicks off next Sunday with Run Seamus Run, then every Tuesday & Thursday at Cavalry Park at 6.30pm.

Sean Kneeshaw leads the side for a second season as captain, with Callum Boyle, Craig Hamilton and Ruaridh Weir appointed as vice captains.

Off the field, Chris Dickson and Keith Jeffrey head up the coaching team, alongside Conor Dempsey and the ever dependable Brian McBain as team manager.

Join us this Thursday from 6:30pm for the final Tartan Touch session of the summer!

It’s been another fantastic season bringing together everyone from minis to former players for some fun, social rugby. We’d love to see as many faces as possible for one last run out.

Pizza will be served in the clubhouse afterwards, and the weather is looking ideal!

Following Tartan Touch we’ll also hold our AGM. This is your chance to hear club updates, discuss important matters, and help shape the future of the club.
