Steve, Nathan and Mark winners of the London Parks League triples. Well done boys and congratulations to Hannah who is the London Parks singles Champion.

Men’s triples

Bush Hill Parks Mark Catchpole, Nathan Muir and Steve Boyle got the triples underway on B5 against Robbie Hayes, Darren Griffith and Travis Mellor of Shanklin, Isle of Wight.

There is an end by end review of the game on Facebook. The Bush Hill lads started really well and led 6-0 after 3 ends. Having gained another single, the Islanders got on the scoreboard on the 5th end taking the Middx shot out clean for 4 shots. By halfway Middx led 11-5 and the lads were playing really well, out drawing the Islanders almost every end. A single extended the lead to 7 but then the Islanders got a 3 and a single. Travis Mellor was starting to find his range with conversion shots and his influence was growing. The sides traded doubles before the Islanders got a three to bring the game level at 14 all after 15 ends. A second three put the Islanders in control with only 2 ends to go and a single on the 17th meant they led by 4 playing the last end. Once again, as had become the theme over the last few ends Middx got shot but Travis took it out for another single. Middx had lost 14-19 but Mark, Nathan and Steve could be proud of the performance they gave. Against lesser skips they would surely have won.

Congratulations to all 8 of the BHP players who took part in the prestigious Alexandria Memorial Cup today . We had Don Linda W and Mike H in the semi finals and Mike H triumphed in the final . That match was so important that we actually moved the annual Fixed Jack competition to accommodate our special invitation. Absolutely brilliant , all represented our club with honours , BHP is proud of you 👏🙏
