Whose ready to push away their weakness?

Here’s the beauty of the tire flip it trains pretty much everything. It trains the legs and glutes in the initial explosive leg drive to lift the tire. It trains the lower back as you drive the hips forward and up. It trains the biceps and upper back in the final pull to get the tire on its end. It trains the chest, shoulders and triceps as you push it over. It trains the core throughout the entire flip.

Plus it makes us ladies feel a whole lot badass

Running may not be everyone's cup of tea but for me it was an avenue to save me from a pit of depression.

After the birth of my second child I started running and just fell in love with the feeling of freedom it gave me.

Looking back you could say running saved me.

The mental hurdles are the hardest to overcome when it comes to exercise. Sometimes you have to trick yourself to start. One of my strategies to exercise is not to give myself a choice over it, I will just get dressed and go regardless of my mood.

My tip if your struggling to get motivated is to set yourself a goal.
•Ask yourself what do you want to accomplish?
•Envision what you will feel like when you accomplish your goal.
•Start small and be committed, don't give yourself a choice 💪

Loving my new gloves, feeling motivated 💪

Having been in lockdown for what feels like an eternity, it’s not surprising that many of us have lost all motivation. You are not alone if you feel distracted and lack lustre when it comes to working out. There’s no right way to feel or act at the moment as we’re all grappling with the loss of our everyday lives. The winter weather also doesn’t help but if you do want to use this time to track towards your goals there are some easy ways to get back into the swing of it.

Here are my top tips:

1. Setting a new goal and creating a plan of how to achieve it can help give you back a sense of drive. Create yourself a new weekly plan with a good mix of cardio, strength and stretching to keep it interesting. The key here is to try and mix things up a bit but the most important thing is to do what you enjoy.

2. Plan your exercise for when it’s easiest to do. For many this may mean exercising as soon as possible in the day before temptations and obstacles that require effort to overcome begin to appear.

3. Make it fun. Create an awesome playlist of your favourite tunes that will keep you moving. Or find a new podcast to keep you company on your run. Perhaps wear your favourite workout kit.

4. Break the process of exercising into chunks. For example, getting changed into sportswear only require a little effort. Stepping out the door only requires a little effort. Before you know it, it’s harder to not exercise than to exercise.

5. Keep in mind that every time you workout you release endorphins which give you that post-exercise buzz. This helps relieve stress and lift mood, moving you a bit closer to your goal.

The message? It’s totally OK if you need some time off working out to reset, but keeping up movement will benefit your mental and physical health during this weird time.

I am happy if you read this far 😀 I hope you find the tips useful.

Lockdown has affected us all in different ways. When it comes to fitness, some of us have stepped things up - going running for the first time, or taking long walks. Others will have experienced illness, had to care for others or simply found it all too much.

If you are struggling to get motivated and are starting to feel lethargic the best way is sometimes to just to say "I am doing this" and go! Pick an activity you enjoy and from there you can slowly build up your fitness level by gently increasing the intensity each time.

Remember to be kind to yourself, if you are just starting out your fitness journey then don't compare to others, just take it at your own pace.

Will you feel like starting, provably not. Will you feel like empowered after, absolutely! 🤩

Dont roll your eyes here 😂

It’s an old saying and there’s a reason that you still here it today - it’s true. This is true for all aspects of life. Sure, there are some easy wins here and there, but for the most part, you only get out what you are willing to put in.

In the context of health and fitness this is a very important rule to remember. I encourage you to use it as a daily reminder. For example look at yourself in the mirror each morning when you get up and say, “I’m only going to get out what I put in today.” As you go through your day and things get tough the temptation is to go off track, whether that be eat healthily or skip your daily exercise. Remind yourself of your goals and with sheer willpower remind yourself "you only get out what you put in"

Is it easy......no
Is it worthwhile........absolutely Try for the next 21 days to focus on maintaining healthy habits to support your goals and make a positive change for life.

You WONT look BACK. 🤛
