International Women’s Day! 🄰

2 Women in my life that make me ME.

My mum. Mum had a huge stroke 3 years ago now. She recovered miraculously. A year and a half later had a large seizure, which was more damaging than we had thought. From that day her whole life changed and she couldn’t return home…devastating.
Another huge blow came when she had a second seizure late last year, just a few days after settling into her new care home…another big shift in life.
HOWEVER, mum is a trooper, and still even despite dementia progression she is so caring, funny and a huge inspiration to us all...life has changed but we have had to adapt. Guess you never stop learning about yourself and others around you.

…and then there’s my wonderful sister!! My true bestie!!!
What this woman wouldn’t do for someone!!! šŸ’Ŗ
She has kept everything & everyone going when times have been so tough and is still cracking jokes! A nurse, a sister, a mum and a bloody incredible lady!!

Here’s to all the women out there going through good, bad and tough times - you all rock and you are all baddass!

Such a great 3 days on the AiM Method course in London with Gary Ward, his team and a top group of fellow body nerds like me!
Not a stone was left unturned. We saw some incredible movement gains in the neck, which changed foot pressures, to a jaw gaining some long lost movement which corrected alignment in the talus in the foot…plus some cool scar pressure work….our bodies are literally amazing machines! āļø

This weekend we have developed new ways to help find the root cause of pain to help restore movement in the areas we simply can’t move so well.
It’s the coolest work I can possibly do to help someone restore movement and start to move away from pain….I really do love my job!

Not only did I have a FAB weekend but I came home to a massive roast dinner ready and waiting for me! What more can a girl want!! 🤣🄰

Definitely not complaining! šŸ˜

I’ve had the best day learning even more valuable knowledge about the body today on an Anatomy in Motion course 🤩

Our bodies are fascinating.
Pain can occur when something is over working somewhere, and it’s not always in the area of the pain! 🤯 right?! šŸ¤“

Today we have been diving in even further to find joint limitations, helping the feet to pronate and supinate better than before and giving the body better chances to experience new movement.
New movement in the feet creates a whole load of new movement up through the rest of the body….its sooo cool to see.
It’s been wonderful to have back for a day to teach us again!! šŸ‘

After a fab day, I had the pleasure of having a quick glass of wine on the way home with the lovely who I met on the course today! Lovely evening for it to! šŸ˜Ž

Anyone else always rushing everywhere?! šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø

I spend my life dashing to the next thing.
Today after saying goodbye to a client in the park I sat, listened to the birds, breathed deeply and quietly people watched for 5 mins…it was honestly bliss! Ha ha the little things eh! 🤩

Take 5 mins for yourself today….your body will thank you!

Days like these lift the soul don’t they?! 🤩

It’s been a tough few months while my poor mum has been back in hospital.
Life can throw curveballs - big ones.

When you see cold beautiful sunny days like this, embrace it, breathe it all in….we are so lucky to be able to do that.

This message came from one of my fab clients who gave my AiM wedges a try!
I love the consultants words - because yes, she did in fact make herself better…and that’s the goal right?!! āļø

She had a particularly painful left foot which had been bothering her for a while. She went to see a consultant who was ready to give a steroid injection to help relieve the pain (treating the symptom - not the cause).

I convinced her to try out the method first before going to see the consultant again for the injection…and I’m so glad she said yes!

I checked out her foot pressures and found that all of her weight was being carried in front of her feet and especially on her right causing the ball of her foot to be under constant tension. To help this, I used the wedges to create a wider, more stable tripod under her foot to keep her whole body, more centred and to help travel her foot pressures more centralWe began the session with some manual mobility as her feet were very rigid. We then worked to pronate and supinate her foot better using the wedges and gained masses of movement throughout both feet.

If you look in the second picture, you will notice that in the after shot her feet look a different tone, her bunion doesn’t seem so pronounced, has less pressure through the top of the toes directly above the ball of the foot (her left 2/3rd metatarsals) and the whole of the foot looks much calmer and relaxed.

My client no longer needs an injection, has been on an adventurous walking holiday recently and is super chuffed…WINNER!! šŸ¤©šŸ™Œ

Do you have foot pain? Have you ever thought about your own foot pressures?
Stand up, have a go and see if you can tell where your pressure is resting in your feet.
Are you more forward, or back, inside or outside, more on the left foot, or more on the right? It’s time to think šŸ‘£

Connecting with your feet as you take a single step forward is something many people just don’t think to do. We take our feet for granted…those poor little soles 😜

Getting the foot to move better is what we should all be aspiring to.
Our feet hold the ability to unlock many problems / pains and mobility issues if we just start moving them better.
Who remembers the songā€¦ā€The toe bone's connected to the foot bone, The foot bone's connected to the ankle bone, The ankle bone's connected to the leg boneā€¦šŸŽµšŸ¦“Simply put, it’s a chain reaction of movement throughout the body.

While on holiday I used my wedges in many different ways to get my feet further into pronation & supination, whilst also creating lots of different spinal body shapes which we naturally adopt though a single step.
This created, lots of freedom, extra mobility and feeling incredible from the ground up….that feeling, plus this view was simply šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘£
