Last night witnessed our first ever penalty in a session.

Players of the night are Di and Liam , Di resolute in defence and Liam with balls that could cut through tension.

A couple of months ago, our club captain and ambassador Steve McDermott was tasked with designing our very own kit. He initially joked about bringing along sketches and paper for a community vote, but instead embraced technology and shared designs online, inviting our community and social media followers to help choose.

Today, we’re excited to confirm that we are ready to place our first order for our very own club kit!

We’ve been fortunate to have had our Friday night tops sponsored, as well as the use of the ECFC Charity fundraisers kit for match days. We’re hopeful we can now return the favour, with this new design potentially becoming their new away kit.

A big thank you to Steve for the design work, and to everyone who voted and got involved. And our kit and club shop partners VX3.

We’ll have a few more thanks to share once the kit arrives—just in time for our next friendly against St Austell on June 14th

Hi there! Looking for shares, follows and potential friendly Games .

We’re Beacon Wanderers, a mixed-ability walking football club based in Exeter. While we’re not currently in a league, we are affiliated with the WFA and pride ourselves on being an inclusive, community-focused team.

Our group welcomes players of all abilities, and we place a strong emphasis on support, encouragement, and enjoyment—both for our own team and our opponents. We play in a relaxed, friendly way (usually on Fridays) and have already had a couple of enjoyable friendlies with South Hams.

We’re now looking to create more opportunities for friendly matches, giving our members the chance to experience playing in games, wearing a kit, and being part of a team environment.

We’d love to connect with like-minded clubs who value a positive, supportive atmosphere. Would this be something you’d be interested

We’ve currently reached full capacity for memberships – which is amazing to see! 🙌

But don’t worry, we’re not turning anyone away. Instead of a waiting list, we’re offering a pay-as-you-play option for just £2 per session.

If spaces become available weekly, I’ll message and invite players to join in.

So please still enquire – there are always ways to get involved with the ever-growing Beacon Wanderers family! ⚽💙
