Happy bike to work week! Always enjoy taking the electric bike out for a blast on the Exe Estuary trails over the mud, grit and sand from Exmouth to Topsham on way to work. The day is never dull! 🚴‍♀️😎🥳

After completing the 100km Nello cycle ride last week, a huge thank you to all you kind people who sponsored me.

We smashed our personal target of £500 by 128% (..and still counting!) and together over 700 cyclists raised over £50k for the FORCE Cancer Charity.

Setting off last at around 9am, It was a tough hilly gradient and the first 30 from Topsham to Tiverton and beyond was uphill nearly all the way, with a killer of a hill coming out of Tivy that never seamed to end! However the regular food and drink stops kept our spirits and energy levels up and a kind lady called Wendy on the last 10km with the lemon drizzle cake and tea stall who let me sit down for 10 mins in her deck chair was an absolute legend!

As soon as St Davids Station appeared, I knew where I was, and the warrior kicked in, so absolutely floored it on the home straight and got in on good time overtaking about 30 people.. got a taste for the race at that point and made it in at about 3pm, taking 4.5h in total without stoppage.. Needless to say there was a lot of stops!

Thank you to my brilliant support team, to my comrades on route who kept the spirits up, to the FORCE Charity team and the therapists at the end who were at hand for one of the best neck n back massages in recent memory!

What a great day to remember and all the cycle training around East Devon coastline and sites for work this summer has been worth every mile for the charity, fitness, wellbeing and zero carbon emissions as the car has been on the driveway since May!

We smashed the target folks! Thanks to all you lovely people who sponsored me for the Nello 100km for the FORCE Cancer charity. It's going to be a hot one tomorrow for the big day at 26 degrees, but it's now or never!

I've enjoyed the training and getting out on the bike to my sites every day has been a truly wonderful way of seeing the beautiful coast and countryside of East Devon, saving carbon emissions and getting fit for the big day.

FORCE offers counselling, group sessions, complementary therapies, benefits advice, specialist physiotherapy and exercise guidance and other health and wellbeing support. Their services are available to cancer patients and their families.

So far we have raised £640 for the charity, which is about 13 therapy sessions for the cancer patients and their families.

A huge thank you to all my kind friends and family who sponsored my 60 mile bike ride for the FORCE Cancer charity, we are now 81% there at £90 off the £500 target!

I have been training hard and have enjoyed the bike so much I have decided to cycle every day now to all my sites in and around Devon, in the spirit of lowering carbon emissions, as well as keeping fit, well and happy.

The target will pay for approximately 10 therapy sessions for cancer patients and their families in need of support. Support sessions range from a number of holistic therapies, counseling, and treatments that ease the trauma of cancer.
