This is why I do what I do 🩷
I started working with a client in early 2025 who had historically been pretty active, but after some physical setbacks, her confidence in what her body could do had taken a knock.
She was apprehensive when we started and genuinely didn’t think she’d ever be able to move through a yoga flow.
I, on the other hand, knew her potential would far surpass that 💪🏻
Fast forward to September 2026…
She now works weekly with Mike Duff | Cotswold S&C which has been a game changer. Her strength and stamina have skyrocketed, she attends an actual yoga class alongside her 1:1 work with me, and recently she took part in a Parkrun with her grandchildren.
That makes me burst with pride ☺️
Because this is what I want the work I do to achieve.
Not dependency ❗️Not fear ❗️Not fragility ❗️
I want to help people build a body they can trust.
It is almost always my goal to use my work as a gateway towards resistance training because building strength is fundamental to longevity. Combined with movement such as yoga and pilates, it creates a stronger, more resilient and capable body.
But I also want to challenge the idea that if you aren’t lifting weights, you’re wasting your time.
Some people aren’t ready for the gym. They may not have the physical capacity, confidence or belief in themselves yet.
And that’s okay.
Sometimes yoga is the starting point — building strength, mobility, body awareness and confidence.
But as someone becomes stronger, a good movement coach should look at the bigger picture and ask: what does this person need next?
Because I don’t just want my clients to do a yoga flow.
I want them to feel capable of doing more with their lives.
To try the sport they’ve always wanted to try. To lift, run, hike, play and explore.
That’s what movement is really about.
You can change your physicality at any age, from any starting point.
You are never too far away from becoming a stronger, healthier and more capable version of yourself 🔥
