Today’s Three Little Pigs Man of the Match goes to Matthew Baker — and what a performance it was! 👏🔥

Matthew was asked to play out of position today, but he absolutely grasped the opportunity with both hands and produced a performance to remember.

⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽ 5 GOALS!

And honestly, he could easily have had 10 with the chances he created and found himself in.

What stood out most today was Matthew’s never-say-die attitude. He simply doesn’t give up on a lost cause and that was perfectly demonstrated with his 4th goal. He chased down what looked like a lost ball, won it back, drove forward and unleashed an absolute rocket into the roof of the net. 🚀🔥

Matthew’s strength, speed and pace caused problems throughout the game, with the opposition struggling to deal with his power and direct running.

Even when the game was going against us and the boys were running on fumes, Matthew kept pushing, kept battling and kept believing.

A 5-goal haul is fantastic, but the attitude, work rate and determination behind those goals is what makes this performance so impressive.

⭐ KALEB MORRISON ⭐

Today’s Coaches’ Three Little Pigs Man of the Match goes to Kaleb Morrison after an absolutely fantastic debut! 👏🔥

Kaleb was thrown straight in at the deep end today, making his debut and playing the full 80 minutes after just two training sessions with his new teammates.

With the squad stretched and players having to play out of position, we needed someone to step up — and Kaleb did exactly that. 💪

From the very first whistle, Kaleb showed an amazing attitude, composure and willingness to work for the team. He helped shore up our back line and showed exactly what he can bring to this group.

For someone playing his first game with the team, in difficult circumstances, his performance was incredibly impressive.

Kaleb’s strong and powerful presence will be a huge asset for us moving forward, and if yesterday’s performance is anything to go by, we’ve got a very exciting player on our hands.

We genuinely feel so lucky to have Kaleb with us, and we can’t wait to see him continue to settle in and grow with the team. 💙❤️

⚽ MATCH REPORT | BRIDGEND 10–6 WESTFIELD COLTS

A scoreline that really doesn’t tell the story.

Going into today’s game, we had just 12 players available from a possible 18 — 2 suspended, 2 injured and 2 away on holiday. This meant asking boys to play out of position, but despite the circumstances, they put in an excellent performance from start to finish. 💙❤️

We started brilliantly and took the lead through Matthew, who finished a fantastic through ball from Blake. Around 20 yards out, Matthew caught the ball perfectly on the half-volley with the outside of his foot and watched it fly into the bottom corner. 🚀

Bridgend then turned the game around to make it 3–1, but our boys never dropped their heads.

Some excellent link-up play between Callan, Robbie and Matthew created our second. Matthew drove into the box and found the roof of the net to make it 3–2.

Then came the leveller. Another fantastic delivery from Blake, this time from around 40 yards, found Matthew to the right of the penalty spot — and once again, he made absolutely no mistake. 3–3. 🎯

We went into half-time 4–3 down, but we were right in the game, playing some excellent football and creating chances. It really felt like there was only a goal in it.

We started the second half a little slower and found ourselves 6–3 down, but again, the boys refused to give up.

A Bridgend attack broke down and they looked to drive away from goal, but Matthew simply wouldn’t stop. He won the ball back, drove into space and from around 25 yards unleashed a powerful strike into the roof of the net. 6–4. 💥

We then pulled another one back through Lewis, who curled a fantastic free kick from the side of the 18-yard box across goal and into the top corner. 🔥

With the boys running on fumes on a big pitch, they continued to fight right until the final whistle.

We grabbed another goal through Matthew, completing his 5-goal haul, after another brilliant assist from Blake. Blake slipped him through on goal, Matthew drove into the box and calmly found the back of the net. ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽

💙 A HUGE SHIFT FROM THE BOYS ❤️

We asked a massive amount from the players today, especially with only 12 available and so many boys playing out of their normal positions.

Even the referee commented after the game that the scoreline doesn’t tell the story.

We created plenty of chances, played some really good football and on another day this could genuinely have finished 10–10.

The boys should be incredibly proud of their effort today. There was no hiding, no heads dropping and no giving up — just 12 players fighting for each other until the very end. 👏

A special mention to Matthew for his 5 goals and Blake for his assists, but this was a proper team performance. 💪

A huge well done to Bridgend and we wish you all the very best for the rest of the season.
