Wonderful to celebrate 10 years of A Band of Brothers in Cornwall with a picnic and visit to St Michael’s Mount on Sunday. About forty of us - Abob men past and present - plus family and friends had a fine afternoon on the Mount and shared our story, writings and even a fitting Cornish song together. A huge thank you to the St. Michael's Mount team for hosting us so beautifully.

Another amazing rites of passage weekend for young men and mentors in Cornwall completed. What an experience!

This Sunday, 31 Aug 2025:
📍 St Michael’s Mount will glow red against the night — a beacon for the anger, shame, and hurt carried by young men from troubled pasts. But red is also the colour of courage, of transformation, of the fire that forges something new.

We gather on this beautiful island to honour that journey — from pain to purpose — with picnic and storytelling, celebrating the young men who have walked the path and the mentors and volunteers who walk beside them.

Our impact:
✅ 58% less violent behaviour
✅ 90% do not re-offend
✅ 89% feel true community for the first time

We mentor 18–25-year-olds facing trauma, addiction, and mental health struggles — walking shoulder-to-shoulder toward accountability, compassion, and respect.

Home Helping young men grow with purpose

We’re on the street today with a stall for Mazey Day, as well as in the Parade, so come along and have a chat, if you’re in Penzance. We are always keen to talk about what we do, especially about potential mentors and referralsof young men to mentor.

Over 500 Co-op members in the Penzance area have chosen us as their charity over the past six months and this has helped us get £500 so far towards our vital work supporting young men.
With 6 months to go, we'd love more local Co-op members to choose us as their charity, so we can raise more and reach more young men who need us. Can you help?
