And that's the BBQ shed roof replaced and once more water tight. Massive thanks to the team at for helping get what I needed. The DIY kit worked perfectly.

But if you need me I will probably be sleeping.

I'm done with DIY /.home improvements back to cooking for me now.

Been a bit quiet here recently. The garden was in need of a little bit of tlc. Old decking ripped out, new patio in.

Now back to cooking 🍳🔥

Nobody mention that I probably now need to repaint the house 🤫

Just a fun tri-tip I cooked the other day. A bit of a reverse sear to lock in the flavour.

Went down a treat.

Quick trip to the pig in the south downs for lunch the other day.

The weather was amazing, the view was great but the lamb special was something else. That was certainly some of the best lamb I've had.

I cooked this recipe the other day, "Indian shepherd's pie with a saag aloo top".

The original recipe sounded good as was but I swapped out the mince for lamb breast and fully stand by it. It was outstanding and will definitely be making it again.

Let's not talk about the mess I made or the state of my pan, it's had a lot of abuse over the years and is looking like it needs to be retired.

Not a bad place to have spent the week. The view from the BBQs was pretty epic too.

We also found another excellent butchers in who had the tastiest lamb and iberico pork chops along with some excellent charcoal from the great Welsh charcoal company.

Now time for the journey home...

What a dinner, thick cut pork belly and all the veg, not a carb in sight, probably....

What else did this meal need?? Let me know.

I love butchers, butchers are brilliant!! Whether it's the lovely things they sell, their support of local farmers, supplying local pubs with everything they need for Sunday's roast - just brilliant.

This is very much a butcher appreciation post mostly because I like finding new butchers. In fact I am tempted to do a few more of them as, as you may imagine I use one or two.

Anyway, this is Steve, his butcher's shop is an excellent butchers! His butcher's hall, in the photos, is a great location next to the parrot pub in forest green!

The selection of goodies on sale looked awesome but my pics didn't do it justice. However, with a bank holiday coming up I can very highly recommend the steak burgers they were stunning!!!

Should I do more awesome butchers posts???

Last week I had a craving for ribs and pit beans. But I might have thrown a picanha on there for good luck and it turned out overshadowing everything. Best picanha I've cooked of you ask me

Got these ribs and picanha from
