🌱 Greens Team Update 🌱

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the Greens Team as we get the course prepared for the changing seasons.

Our greens have been vertidrained to a depth of 8 inches, followed by ironing to smooth and restore the surfaces. They have then been lightly verticut, followed by a cut, sprayed with a biostimulant and overseeded to encourage healthy growth and improve the playing surfaces.

The tees have also been tined and scarified, with overseeding planned for next week.

The pipework and sprinkler heads have now been installed on the new 5th tee.

We have installed two winter mats on the 8th and 10th to help protect the course during the winter months.

🏆 EAST RIDING MATCHPLAY CHAMPION! 🏆

A huge congratulations to Tom Sanghera, who today has been crowned East Riding Matchplay Champion! 👏

Tom defeated Hull Golf Club’s Jon Samuel 6&5 in the final at Ganton Golf Club, winning a 36-hole matchplay final in impressive fashion.

It’s a fantastic achievement for Tom and another brilliant addition to what has already been an outstanding season.

From winning the Filey Club Championship and the East Riding Amateur, to helping Filey secure the East Riding Union Team Championship, Tom has had an incredible year. ⛳️

Congratulations Tom — a fantastic achievement and a great way to top off a brilliant season! 👏🏆

🏆 TOM SANGHERA THROUGH TO THE ERUGC MATCHPLAY FINAL! 🏌🏻‍♂️

Tom Sanghera has battled his way through to the East Riding Union of Golf Clubs Men’s Matchplay Final after beating Hornsea’s Jonny Fisher 1up at Driffield Golf Club! 👏

Tom will now face Hull Golf Club’s Jon Samuel in the final, a 36-hole match at Ganton Golf Club on Sunday 20th September.

Spectators are welcome, so if you’re free, get yourselves down to Ganton and come out and support Tom as he looks to bring home another ERUGC title! 💙💛
