What an incredible and unforgettable weekend for the Whites! 🏆⚽

On Saturday, we took part in BSA’s annual Reamonn Gormley Memorial Tournament, and what a day it turned out to be.

A tough group stage awaited us, with only the top two teams from each section progressing to the semi-finals and competing for the Cup. The boys got off to the perfect start, securing three points with an excellent all-round performance. While the second and third games didn’t quite go our way, the team showed great character to bounce back, winning their remaining matches and securing second place in the group.

That set up a hugely challenging semi-final against one of the tournament favourites. Many had already written the lads off, but as coaches, we know the heart, resilience and determination this group possesses. We took an early lead and looked in control before being dealt a major setback with a very harsh red card. Down to ten men against a top-quality side, the boys dug deeper than ever. Their work rate, commitment and desire were outstanding as they defended bravely and held on for a fantastic victory to book their place in the final.

With barely any time to recover, it was straight into the final against another very strong side that we’ve struggled against in recent meetings. Most people expected us to fall just short and be proud simply to have reached the final.

But this group of boys had other ideas.

From the first whistle, they played with confidence, energy and belief. They moved the ball well, created chances and deservedly took the lead. What followed was a defensive display full of courage, discipline and determination as every single player gave absolutely everything for the badge and for each other. When the final whistle blew, the boys were crowned champions! 🏆

The celebrations that followed were something special. Players, coaches and parents all together, sharing a moment that none of us will forget. Absolute scenes!

This is a massive achievement for this group and one they thoroughly deserve. The commitment they show at every training session and every match is incredible, and it was fantastic to see all that hard work rewarded.

Across the tournament, the boys scored some fantastic goals, defended superbly, conceded just three goals in total, and demonstrated outstanding team spirit throughout. Most importantly, they never stopped believing in themselves.

Champions. Fully deserved. 🏆🏆🏆

Finally, a huge thank you to the club for organising one of the best tournaments around. It was brilliantly run from start to finish, and we’re sure every team that took part across the three days had a fantastic experience. Seeing all the players collecting their medals and celebrating with teammates, friends and families at the end of the day is what grassroots football is all about.

Well done, boys. You did yourselves, your families and your club proud. 👏⚽🏆

⚽️ GET TO KNOW THE SQUAD – EPISODE 4 ⚽️

It’s time to meet Brennan #3, aka “Brendog” 💛🖤

A Liverpool supporter through and through 🔴, golf enthusiast ⛳ and steak lover 🥩, Brennan’s profile gives us a glimpse into the player behind the shirt.

If he could meet anyone, it would be Mo Salah ⚽️, and with a trip to Rome 🇮🇹 on the wish list, there’s plenty still to tick off the bucket list!

One word to describe Brennan? Cheeky 😏 — and anyone who knows him will probably agree!

And then there’s the fun fact… 🤣

At just 2 years old, Brennan managed to put a blue jelly bean up his nose and ended up in A&E! Safe to say his dribbling decisions have improved since then 👏😂

Saturday morning brought excellent conditions for another 11-a-side transition game as we welcomed Bellshill Athletic to the Palace grounds. The pitch was in fantastic condition and provided a great surface for both teams to play.
The game started positively, with both sides showing confidence in playing out from the back and looking to build attacks in the right way. While chances were limited early on, it was encouraging to see the boys sticking to the team's principles and working hard in possession.
At half-time, we made a few changes to give everyone opportunities and looked to build on our performance. Unfortunately, a couple of players picked up knocks and had to come off, which made things a little more challenging. Despite this, the lads continued trying to play good football, and were rewarded with a well-worked goal.
As the game went on, fatigue started to show and Bellshill finished strong. There were plenty of positives to take from the match, particularly in our build-up play and willingness to keep playing the right way.
Back to training this week as we continue to learn and develop, and we're all looking forward to hosting our own festival next Saturday.

This evening we travelled to face St Roch’s in a friendly fixture, with both teams looking to gain valuable minutes as we continue our transition to 11-a-side football.

On a great surface and in excellent conditions, it turned into a really enjoyable evening of football. We were a little slow out of the blocks and a few early mistakes made things difficult for ourselves, but the boys showed great character to respond positively. Once they settled into the game and trusted themselves to play football, they really grew into the match.

We finished the first half strongly and carried that momentum into the second half with some excellent flowing football, moving the ball well and creating plenty of quality opportunities. It was especially pleasing to see how solid and organised we remained defensively, with many of our best attacking moves starting right from the back.

Most importantly, the attitude, teamwork and quality on display throughout the squad were outstanding, and the boys can be really proud of the way they applied themselves and developed as the game went on.

A big thank you to St Roch’s for hosting us — the match was played in a great spirit by both teams and was exactly the type of test both sides needed.

Saturday morning saw us make the trip up to the Showpark to face EK Colts on a great morning for football, with the pitch in excellent condition.

The match started off cagey as both teams adjusted to the large pitch. With us being short on numbers, it was always going to require a big effort from the boys.

As the first half went on, EK Colts grew into the game and capitalised on a few moments in our own half.

The second half showed a big improvement from the lads. We created more chances, put together some good spells of football, and showed great determination throughout. Naturally, the hard work and reduced numbers took its toll as the game drew to a close.

Overall, a strong effort from the boys with plenty of positives to take and lots to build on in training moving forward.
