Foxley Bowling Club

We are having our annual Disability Try Bowls @ Foxley event on Saturday 23rd May 12-3pm.

It’s a great opportunity for anyone over 16 who has a disability to give bowling a go.

We’ll have fully qualified coaches there to get you on the green and show you the ropes.

No equipment necessary, we have everything you need to get started. Although flat soled shoes for those able to walk would be ideal.

We had the first of our internal tournaments at the weekend.

The Coombe Balloted Triples, traditionally the first trophy of the season up for grabs, was won by the triple of Frank McBride, James Sehar and Craig Campbell.

Due to the horrible weather forecast over the weekend caused by Storm Dave (who calls a storm Dave?) we are going to re-schedule the Community Try Bowls Day due to take place on Sunday until Saturday 18th April.

Anyone who had hoped to join the club this weekend in advance of our Opening Day on 11th April can still do so by contacting the club directly on [email protected].

After much behind the scenes negotiations, we are delighted to announce that refurbishment work on the green will start after the Easter holidays.

Work to replace rinks 5 and 6 with outdoor curling rinks should be completed by the winter.

This change will allow the club to be used all year round and embraces the similarities between bowls and curling.

We can’t wait to get playing on it.

Cmon the Foxley

It’s our first Try Bowls Day of the year this coming Sunday.

If you’ve never played bowls before then this is your chance to pop down to the club, betweeen 12-3pm, to give it a go. Our fully qualified coaches will be on hand to help you with the basics.

Even if you have played before, pop down and sample the atmosphere, you just might want to take the game up again.

No equipment required, we’ll supply it all, just wear flat soled shoes.

It’s only 18 days till the bowling season starts all over again.

Why not come join us, get in some gentle exercise, meet new people and take part in Scotland’s most successful Commonwealth Games sport.

New bowlers can get a membership for only £30 for the first year, with those who’ve bowled before paying just £90 membership.

We are open to everyone and anyone, whatever your age, gender or background, you’ll be welcomed at Foxley.
