DICK GAUGHAN Freedom Come All Ye 1989 04/08/2014

The song Freedom Come All Ye was a fitting choice at the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2014 opening ceremony as the song speaks of winds of change and sweeping away exploitation and imperialism - and looks to an inclusive and co-operative future.

The song is a product of the 60s Scottish folk revival.
wonderful version here with Dick Gaughan who really understands what the words mean...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nLGKFTH5sw

Till Tomorrow by Dougie Maclean, Royal Scottish National Orchestra & John Logan 06/06/2014

Dougie Mclean - new album. Wow, just heard Dougie's song 'Caledonia' with the Scottish National Orchestra on Radio Scotland today. My son chose this song for his first dance, by miles best version I have heard, the orchestra adding that extra depth and richness. Summer 2013 saw Dougie recording an album with the RSNO (Royal Scottish National Orchestra) which will be released on Linn Records in 2014…in time for a special performance with the orchestra in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in June 2014.

I liked this comment on the power of images, by a journalist too. 'Understanding images. A good picture will always beat words, however beautifully crafted. Deal with it. ' Oh yes.
