ET8 - Baltic Sea Darts Open R2 Result:

Hope flies in the eyes again,
Cameron Menzies wins again!
Cammy reaches a second consecutive L16 on the European Tour, cruising past Stephen Bunting.
He averaged 96 and took out back to back ton plus finishes (107, 148) early on to leap into tomorrow's action.

It's hot.
Very hot.
Too hot.
And as if the temperatures weren't already turning us into a variety of human braais, Cameron Menzies turned to the temperature up past maximum last night.
To say he was Kielly Kielly good is an understatement, with our Magic Muirkirkian landing a new best average on the European Tour of 108.41, as he Criss Crossed the former World Champion to move into R2.
That performance also included a 170 finish and 6 x 180s, in a game where it felt like he would hit whatever precise picometre of sisal he was targeting.
He'll be hoping to carry that momentum in tonight, with hopes of a second consecutive Sunday appearance, and a strengthened grip on a Matchplay spot.
He faces Stephen Bunting, who comes into this weekend in a decent bit of form. He won the final night of the Premier League the week before Thursday, and got a win on the board in Riesa last week.
Their h2h is similar to Cammy and Cross, with Cammy ahead 3-2 - Cammy won their most recent encounter on the ET last year, and of course won his maiden Pro Tour title against The Bullet in 2024.
The match is the fourth of tonight's session, live on PDCTV for UK viewers, and via PDC Partners around the world.
So, wish Cammy luck as he looks to dodge The Bullet and reach another final day on the European Tour.

ET8 Baltic Sea Darts Open R1:
Cameron Menzies 6οΈβ£-4 Rob Cross
..
What can we say that isn't just 'Wow?!'
Cammy picks up where he left off last week, breaking his Euro Tour average record to beat the former World Champion.
He landed 6 x 180s and a 170 finish, as he steamrolled through - Averaging in excess of 108.
He's really quite good at darts, isn't he π

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Or is it Muirkirkian Lightning ready ready to strike in Kiel?
It's that time: It's a Euro Tour Friday, and Cameron Menzies returns to the stage - but this time, off the back a career best run.
Last weekend was...like nothing we've seen in our many combined years in darts.
Two comebacks from 0-4 in three games was both jaw-dropping and nerve inducing - and led to Ryan apologising to his new neighbours for the week following.
Though if Cammy keeps playing so well, it's only the beginning for them...
As mentioned, he trod new ground in Riesa, reaching his maiden Semi-Final on the ET circuit, before being defeated by eventual champion Ross Smith.
It feels, more and more as the weeks go by, that Cammy is finding his destructively good rhythm, and playing at the level that the whole darting world knows that he's capable of.
Tonight is a bit of a symmetrical tie, as he's in competition with last week's other beaten Semi-Finalist - and the man just above him in the race for the Matchplay.
Rob Cross should not be overlooked. He's a World and Matchplay champion in years gone by - but his recent success has been based off being the highest ranked player who's failed to qualifying for European Tours, coming in off the reserve list, and going deep.
A handful of runs like that have seen him propel back into the conversation for majors after a difficult period for the Englishman - who, like Cammy, knows what victory tonight could mean in the long term.
Not that either will be thinking of anything beyond this first round rendezvous, however.
Cammy has the advantage in the form charts, winning three of their last five meetings - including the last two, which were wins at the Grand Prix and ET14 last year.
The match is the third of this evening, live on PDCTV for UK viewers, and via PDC Partners around the world.
So, wish Cammy luck as he looks to shut off the power against Voltage tonight.
And remember - if he goes four legs down, just breathe - it'll be ok.

ET7 - International Darts Open QF Result:
Cameron Menzies 6οΈβ£-4 James Wade
HE'S DONE IT AGAIN TO REACH HIS FIRST ET SEMI-FINAL!!
From 0-4, he went through his ridiculously good gears to reel off six legs on the spin and progress to a Semi-Final against Ross Smith.
Cammy Houdini strikes again.
Incredible.

ET7 - International Darts Open L16 Result:
Cameron Menzies 6οΈβ£-2 Martin Schindler
Ohhhh yeah!
The final session of ET7 awaits for Cammy, as he progresses with a fourth straight win against the German No.1.
It was cool and composed from moment one from our Muirkikian Master, running away with the tie after an opening hold from Schindler.
James Wade awaits in QF4 tonight.
Absolutely phenomenal all round there π

Menzies on the final day, doo da, doo da...
If you, like many, are dreading a working week in an office likely to be hotter than the sun with its central heating on, may I suggest a dose of vitamin Cammy?
After an incredible comeback against Josh Rock, that saw him win six legs on the spin from 0-4, Cammy is questing to reach a first European Tour Quarter-Final of the season this afternoon in Riesa.
He faces German No.1 Martin Schindler, who will be in Cammy's good books after knocking out Karel Sedlacek yesterday, who is one of our Magical Muirkirkian's rivals for a Matchplay spot.
Cammy has won each of their last three meetings - with their last actually being THAT encounter on the Grand Slam stage in 2024...the drama of that group still gives me palpitations to this day.
The match is expected to begin at approximately 14:30 BST, and is live via PDCTV in the UK and via PDC Partners around the world.
So, wish Cammy luck as he looks to break Schind on the Riesa stage this afternoon.

ET7 - International Darts Open Result:
Cameron Menzies 6οΈβ£-4 Josh Rock
Oh. Our. Words.
An absolutely incredible comeback from Cammy sees him into the final day of ET7, as our Muirkikian Magician pulls the win out of the hat from 0-4.
From a sub 90 average at 0-4, Cammy turned it on massively to average 97 by the end, pinning 60% of his attempts at the outer ring en route to victory.
Wowza.

As I write this, I'm listening to Sucker's Prayer by The Decemberists - Thankfully that wasn't the case yesterday, as my prayers for a Cameron Menzies victory were heard and answered by the Behemoth in Blue.
He had to come back from 1-4 down, and survive match darts - but did what the elite do, and found that winning formula to progress to R2 at the International Darts Open.
Today's opponent is someone who may not give away such opportunities in the latter stages, however...as you can't have given much away to be the most recent name on the European Tour roll of honour.
Josh Rock is a young talent (I write, he's three years older than me), who comes into this weekend off the back of the end of his debut Premier League campaign.
Whilst he didn't qualify for the O2, he gave a fine account of himself for his first time in the sphere.
As mentioned, he is an ET winner as recently as 13 days ago, picking up the green jacket granted to the winner of the Austrian Darts Open.
What is it about Northern Irishmen and green jackets, honestly...
Their last five meetings have been back and forth like the Chuckle Brothers moving an antique table, with Rock winning three (including the most recent in the PC10 final last year) and Cammy winning two.
The match is the last of the afternoon session, live on PDCTV in the UK, and via PDC Partners around the world.
So, wish Cammy luck as he looks carve through Rock in an all Rangers battle on the Riesa stage this afternoon.
