Visit www.stabyhounuk.com for more details or email [email protected] to apply for a puppy. The Stabyhoun, or Stabij as we also call it, is a rare dog breed from the Netherlands. It shares many skills and behavioural characteristics with, for example, the Labrador, Golden Retriever, Spaniel and Duck Tolling Retriever in that it is active, intelligent, a good worker and most of all a loving and loyal family dog. On this site you will find information about the breed, about how to go about getting a Stabyhoun puppy and the efforts that go into breeding and maintaining a healthy population of Stabyhouns. The role of the UK Stabyhoun Association is:
1. Promoting the Stabyhoun as an active family dog with good working and showing potential in the UK
2. Educating potential owners about the characteristics of the Stabyhoun
3. Identifying suitable homes for puppies and support all new owners of this wonderful, unique and sometimes challenging breed
4. Safeguarding the genetic integrity of the breed in the UK, and to assist in safeguarding the genetic integrity of the breed worldwide
5. Promoting responsible breeding and develop, with the assistance of established breeders and associations, our own breeding programme – always seeking to learn and understand more about successful breeding while educating our members about the keys to successful breeding
6. Advising Stabyhoun owners on all aspects of training and welfare
7. Organising workshops and training days that promote good dog ownership for all UK Stabyhoun owners
