Pollok United 2014

As if yesterday's tournament win wasn't enough, today our 2014's joined the rest of the Pollok United Soccer Academy to welcome Scotland internationalist Craig Gordon and Deputy First Minister Jenny Gilruth to our Nethercraigs Complex. The aim was to launch the "Summer of Sport" programme in Scotland. It's safe to say that the programme has kicked off in style, with up to 160 boys and girls taking part in the Southside sunshine. Thank you to everyone involved at the club for making this happen!

What an incredible day our Whites and Blacks teams had yesterday at this year's Park Villa 2014s tournament. This tournament seems to get better and better ever year, and we can't thank the whole Park Villa family enough for making it such a memorable day. We had some really tough fixtures, but delighted to say that our Whites managed to win the tournament after a really competitive final against the hosts, Park Villa 2014s. As you will see from the pictures below, the boys loved every minute of it!

Saturday was a big day for football in Scotland...........but Parkhead wasn't the only place watch the action. Our 2014's Black's and White's teams were down in Dumfries for the Heston Rovers Football Festival.

We are currently recruiting to our 2014 boys squad. A couple of the real strengths of our club are our facilities at Nethercraigs Sports Complex that we have a player pathway that goes all the way from Tony tots through to our adult Pollok FC team who play in the West of Scotland Premier Division Junior league. It was an 11 aside victory for our Whites this weekend in what was the first outing for our new kit. The boys loved being able to play on "the big Astro" at our Nethercraigs Sports Complex too. It'll take a while for young Rohan to grow into those full size goals, but he and the rest of the boys have really risen to the challenge. Thank you to our friends at Ardgowan Thistle Yellow's for a great match played in a great spirit!
