After our grading practise today we worked on some self defence techniques! I borrowed some of Master McMillans ground techniques from the recent Stand Strong program - today we worked on defending ourselves from the ground using a side kick and how best to get back up on our feet π

Student of the month for April goes to this young lady for always offering to help her clubmates with their patterns! We also got a belated shot of her with her medals from the Scottish Closed, as well as her medals from the last intra-club. Not a bad silverware haul for her first 2 competitions, here's hoping for many more ππ

Last two students to get their belts from the recent grading! Two brothers that have been coming for the same amount of time, though Archy spent some time going through our program for younger students and finally stepped it up for his first colour belt grading! Congrats to them both π

A big shout out to Cooper Dunn who had a tough category in Boys green belt sparring. He fought really well but didnt medal this time, though was instantly asking when the next competition was.
Its not easy getting on the mat, and not everyone does it, so I am a very proud instructor π

Student of the month for February goes to this young man! He's been working hard on both his listening skills of late and his patterns for his first grading this Saturday, very well deserved!
