The final game of Brave Cup Saturday saw Edinburgh Lightning take on the Mixed Squad Aspiring Boys, rounding off a brilliant day of hockey in the Glasgow sunshine. ☀️🏑

Even after a full day on the sidelines with the camera, there was still loads of energy on show from both teams, with quick passing, determined defending and plenty of entertaining hockey to finish the day in style.

Game six of Hockey Brave Cup Saturday saw Mixed Squad take on Glasgow Thunder Emerging Girls in another entertaining match played in glorious sunshine. ☀️🏑

Plenty of skill, determination and quick attacking play on display from both sides, with the game played at a great tempo throughout. Another fantastic watch and another difficult set of photographs to narrow down from such a busy day of hockey.

Game five of Hockey Brave Cup Saturday featured Edinburgh Lightning against Northern Devils Emerging Boys. ☀️🏑

Another fast-paced contest with plenty of intensity from both teams, combining strong defensive work with some really exciting attacking hockey. A brilliant match to capture and another reminder of the quality on show throughout the day.

Great teamwork, determination and plenty of attacking intent from both sides made this a really enjoyable game to photograph, with lots of energy across the pitch and no shortage of action in the Glasgow sunshine.

Game three of Brave Cup Saturday saw Northern Devils take on Glasgow Thunder Aspiring Boys in another highly entertaining contest. ☀️🏑

Loads of energy and commitment on display from both sides, with quick passing, strong defensive work and some excellent attacking play making this a great one to watch and photograph in the sunshine. Another cracking game from a packed day of hockey.

Great energy from both sides throughout, with plenty of attacking hockey, determined defending and lots of skill on show in the Glasgow sunshine. Another brilliant game to photograph and another tough job narrowing down the favourite shots from the day!

Bank holiday weekend and hockey on repeat? Sounds perfect to me. ☀️🏑

First up from Brave Cup weekend was Glasgow Thunder vs Mixed Squad Emerging Boys. Plenty of energy, skill and determination on show from both sides in the Glasgow sunshine, making for a brilliant start to a packed day of hockey photography. Here’s a few favourite shots from the game!

And then came the George Black Cup final… and in one word: feisty.

vs was always going to deliver. Two top sides, plenty history, and silverware on the line. Clydesdale struck first, but Wildcats responded quickly through Dougie with a perfectly-timed sliding finish, stretched out on the turf to guide the ball home. The boy child then stepped up to calmly convert a penalty flick to make it 2–1, before another Wildcats goal stretched the lead to 3–1.

But Clydesdale’s young players had other ideas, producing a couple of brilliant goals to drag it back to 3–3.

The response from Wildcats was immediate. A surging run up the wing from the boy child, slipped through to Gus, squared for Captain Barry… absolutely thumped into the net. Proper statement goal. then added the final touch as Wildcats sealed a 5–3 win and made it three titles in a row.

Fantastic hockey, fiery throughout, and a slightly emotional one behind the camera too after four years photographing this Wildcats squad. Sure the boy child won’t stay away too long.
