The opening of the green was a great day with President John Bell welcoming everyone and wife Anne throwing the first jack and bowls with members, friends and invited guests looking on.
President John had a special announcement to make appointing Two New Honorary Club Vice Presidents to Pauline Kininmonth and Stuart McArthur. Many congratulations to both.
New members were invited onto the green to be presented with their club tie and badge.
The raising of the flag was complete by our Honorary Club President Alan Richmond supported by Cathy Queen.
For the bowls the weather was kind, the green was full and the banter was flowing.
After the bowls the banter and friendships continued with the President and guests relaxing in our lounge with members enjoying the main hall.
During the day a raffle was held for our three Kilt Walkers Riggs Members Honorary Secretary Marc Elmes with his wife Angela Elmes and Louise Wilson raising money for Cash for Kids. Thanks to all who purchased tickets.
The Grand National was watched with intent with winners and losers which was followed by a buffet provided for all.
In the evening we had entertainment by "Rio" which took us to the close of a great 2026 opening day.
