So proud of our student .png for putting themselves out there to compete, taking a risk and pushing outside of their comfort zone. Not only did you sell a routine that was very authentic to you, you went and claimed 3rd place intermediate at tricks!!!
The best part of teaching isn't the trophies etc (although im not complaining 😜) its seeing students discover who they are as a dancer, poler, performer and creative and Im so glad I could be a part of Teigans journey! You really do always strive to do more and it shows!
You should be so proud of yourself! ❀️❀️

A whole weekend of me Edinburgh? You lucky lot! 😜
You can catch me judging Shadowbound tricks on the 31st of Jan and teaching workshops at the fabulous Pivot Pole on the 1st Feb!!!

We'll be kicking off with a classic character driven choreo, giving you an introduction on creating character using a set flow piece to tell a story through movement. Suitable for everyone whether youre new to character and flow or experienced and just want to try another style.

My second workshop is all about fake it until you make it!! If you dont have those splits yet we have some hacks and moves which will make you look flexi in the meantime! We will also be using the bottom 3rd of the pole for some cool grounded tricks to help you level up your transitions and vary those trick combos!

You can book via Pivots teamup by heading over to their insta and following the link or head to their website!!

Any questions please feel free to ask!
Both workshops have a SW discount being offered.

The perfect little Xmas treat to yourself 😜❀️

We took a road trip to the Naughties in the North showcase this weekend!!
Not only was it so fun but at Juicy we feel its important to be a part of the wider pole community and support polers however and whenever you can!!!

It was an amazing day with such lovely and talented folk! When polers get together in the right space and attitude, it is electric!!! It radiates positivity and feels so infectious you can't help but have a good day!!!

If you want to support Juicy Jules at any upcoming events you will find her in October at Shadowbound Showcase Edinburgh, Pole Fitness Falkirk November, as a JUDGE! At Shadowbound tricks 31st Jan in Edinburgh and All About Heels Darlington 11th April.

Any students performing? Please pop in the comments so we can all come and support! ❀️❀️

I call this a Banana splt, some people call it a step up, it probably has a bunch of names πŸ˜…
Key things to remember: Find the sweet spot that works for you with that bottom foot.
Take the shoulder down so the hips can come up, just like that Hinge idea from my invert tutorial previously!
Tuck that second leg in close to the pole so its prepped and ready to extend.
Keep pushing that bottom foot into the pole at all times. If its slidey, stop and wipe then try again!!
Use a spot to help your first attempts.
Happy Training ☺️

This we have Shoulder Mount!
This is one of the most common moves I see being attempted or taught unsafely so hopefully this helps as a wee guide! The straddle is the safer way to learn the mount because you can punt your legs up to hook on and not slide the shoulder down which is the most common reason people lose grip and fall. Its also mostly risk free as you either get your hips up or you dont. Use a spot, especially when you're attempting to go from straddle to Invert!!! These are hints and tips to help if you're struggling, not to replace teaching!

Starting a wee series providing some tips for common errors I notice hinder my students from achieving a move. First up we have your Invert!
1. Look back and try to find the floor as you tilt your chest back. Looking at your feet means you keep your head up and likely don't drop the chest enough.
2. Imagine your body is a hinge. If the chest goes down, the hips come up meaning your legs are in prime position to place on easily. The most common mistake made is not lifting the hips enough. Use your abs!!
3. Don't lead with the feet, trying to get the feet on drops your hips and butt meaning your chest comes up. Think more about taking the chest down, you get that correct your legs will be in the correct position.

Use a spot if you can, don't attempt before you're ready and you can drill the leg position safely from the ground first.

Happy Training! πŸ₯°
