Match Report

On Saturday, East End United 2016s travelled away to face Glenboig United in the final game of the current block. The match started brightly with the boys showing great confidence on the ball, producing plenty of passing moves and testing the opposition goal with several efforts.

Despite having only one substitute available, the squad worked tirelessly throughout and were rewarded with a number of goals before half-time. The Glenboig goalkeeper was in outstanding form, pulling off several excellent saves to keep his side in the game.

The second half began with Glenboig finding the net after a well-worked move, but our boys responded brilliantly. Raising the intensity once again, East End continued to create chances and add to their tally with some excellent team play and finishing.

A big thank you to Glenboig United for the game and we wish them all the best going forward.

Last night saw both our East End United 2016s squads in friendly action away in Cumbernauld against two excellent Garnkirk United teams.

Both matches kicked off at the same time and provided plenty of entertainment, with some great passing football, fantastic goals and brilliant saves from all four squads. The boys worked hard throughout and showed great teamwork and determination.

A big thank you to Garnkirk United for hosting the games and for two very competitive matches. We wish everyone at the club the very best of luck going forward.

Match Report | East End United 2016s 5–4 Alloa Saints

East End United 2016s were at home today at Stepford, taking on Alloa Saints in what turned out to be a thrilling game.

The boys started brightly, playing some lovely football from the first whistle. Great passing, plenty of communication, and some excellent saves helped East End take control of the match, going into half-time with a deserved 3–1 lead.

Alloa Saints responded well in the second half and, with a few tactical changes, worked their way back into the game. They scored some well-worked goals and showed great determination to level things up at 4–4 with just two minutes remaining.

The East End boys dug deep and showed fantastic character. A quick passing move right at the end saw them grab the winner and secure an exciting 5–4 victory.

A big thank you to Alloa Saints for the game, and we wish them all the best for the rest of the season.

Development Squad Match Report

Last night our Development Squad travelled to East Kilbride to take on EK Caledonian Thistle in a friendly match.

The game started well, with a few new players joining the squad for the first time. The boys settled in quickly and worked hard throughout the match. It was a great opportunity for the coaches to try players in different positions and continue their development.

There were plenty of goals at both ends, along with some excellent saves from both goalkeepers. The match provided another valuable run-out for the squad, with lots of positives to take from the performance.
